Nice ambience, clean and simple, had the roast beef which melted in your mouth, the staff were attentive but not overly, dessert was all flavours of homemade sorbet, which were fantastic. Can't wait to go back.

Disappointed this time - Sun 10Feb. Only Sunday lunch option at 5pm. Not great. Cold. Chose lamb which was very nice but swimming in gravy. Would rather have gravy served on the side. Service not brilliant. One man only waiting, not interested in his job, spent most of the time chatting at the bar. Repeat requests for drinks. Won't rush back...

Excellent dinner at Guildford Arms on 25th Jan. The January 3 courses for £26 is great value and in a lovely environment with terrific service. Our one request would be to add a New Zealand Sauvingnon to the wine list as that's our ladies drink of choice. We'll be back next time we visit the area.

The food was good quality as usual, the main courses took quite a while to arrive

Went for Sunday lunch and ordered the lamb which when served resembled masticated mush. On eating the pulpy mass it a very sharp bone appeared, no exaggeration but this could have been very dangerous. Very expensive for what is basically pub grub. Tiny portions followed by a serving of cold coffee would lead me not to return here. Not impressed.

We ate upstairs, and were pleased that it didn't lack atmosphere. The hake dish was outstanding. The brisket starter was a little salty.
