Lovely restaurant and brilliant service.
Food was really good, the cornfed chicken was so tender and juicy.

Following a grand re-opening, The Grill at The Dorchester offers grill classics in Mayfair, against the backdrop of this iconic hotel’s timeless interiors. Established in 1931, and now led by head chef Guillaume Katola, The Grill at The Dorchester has a long-held reputation for serving London’s finest grill food.

The Grill at The Dorchester’s seasonal menus place grill favourites alongside their signature lobster chowder. An open rotisserie is also on offer, adding to the relaxed ambience of the setting. For dessert, an extensive soufflé menu is the highlight, the first of its kind in London.

Counter top-style seating, and the contemporary details added by interior architect Bruno Moinard, merge with the iconic elegance of The Dorchester to create a vibrant, welcoming environment. With a hand-blown glass chandelier hanging above oak parquet flooring, and surfaces resplendent in marble and zinc, The Grill at The Dorchester is a striking venue. Pivoting wall panels help to create an inviting atmosphere that evolves throughout the day.

Overlooking Hyde Park, The Grill at The Dorchester is a 7-minute walk from Hyde Park Corner Tube Station.

The service was excellent and the glass of champagne provided with the lunchtime package was lovely. The choice of background music wasn't very relaxing, nor was it particularly suited to the clientele but it wasn't too intrusive.
The most disappointing thing about the whole experience was the food. All beautifully presented but it felt as though the chefs had almost tried too hard. The starter had obviously come straight out of the fridge and was icy cold, the potatoes with the sea bream had been chopped up into minute pieces and mixed in with the leeks to make an almost tasteless sauce, my friend said her pork chop just tasted like 'meat' and the contemporary lemon tart, although it looked great, was overwhelmingly lemony and bitter. The coffee was so strong that I was still awake at 3 am the following morning. This was supposed to be a treat for my friend's birthday. I felt let down.

Lunch was spoilt due to my friends pork chop being so undercookd she couldn't eat it. It had to be taken back and she had to wait for another one to be cooked. Meaning she had to sit and watch us eat. When her dinner came she had to eat on her own. The waiter did apologise but it ruined the experience for us all. Very sad as we had been looking so forward to our lunch there. We did get a free glass of champagne each as an apoligy but our experience was ruined . So sad.

Lovely welcome but service tailed off to poor. Disappointed that items on web site were not offered on £39 menu and that had to pay more for vegetables. Ingredients very cheap and basic ie not smoked salmon or beef but very well cooked and presented on the plate. Very misleading on web site. Waited 25 mins to be offered coffee and had to call waiter over. Then he brought wrong coffee. Wine super expensive. Had to ask twice for the bill. Not the level I would expect from the Dorchester. Fuddy duddy décor although just refurbished - much better at other hotels.
