Housed in a Grade II-listed coaching house, The Greyhound Inn Chalfont St Peter offers high-end British cuisine. Brimming with history, notable guests at this 14th-century site include Winston Churchill and Oliver Cromwell.

Formerly of the Savoy, head chef Nana Akuffo crafts classic British dishes with a refined edge. Meat and seafood platters also offer tempting sharing options.

Time-honoured desserts are served with an inventive twist, with offerings like brioche bread & butter pudding, or luxurious chocolate fondant with candied orange. The social hub of the village, a lively bar at The Greyhound near Gerrards Cross serves velvety real ales and a fine international wine list.

Filled with old-world charm, The Greyhound restaurant features rustic paving, gnarled beams and crackling log fires. On Mondays from 20:30 - 22:00,a quiz night turns the inn into a lively, bustling social hotspot. Gerrards Cross Rail Station is a 5-minute drive away.

Appalling !!!!!!!! arrived, and the NOISE - shouting / screaming from loads of people in the bar area made it intolerable ! Shown to the dining area - The NOISE !! level was hardly any better.. WE LEFT ! most probably Never to return again.

Turned up and no one in the restaurant - No diners, no staff. Pub was busy and a bad sign when the restaurant is absolutely empty! After waiting for 5 mins and no sign of anyone, rather than speak to the busy bar staff we left. We spent the 5 mins looking at the menu and were thoroughly unimpressed nothing better than pub food - Not a dining experience. Its a shame, pubs like the Three Oaks on the other side of the village have got a really impressive menu and were subsequently fully booked!

The Pub was fine but lacked a choice of Bitters/ales (only two weak ales were available) I have heard the Hotel part is fine? Nice Location and pub spoilt by poor business development? I don't know, but we won't be going back...

Had dreadful stay, when we checked in was told there was a family function on in restaurant, you can eat in the bar. Even though we had a dinner reservation,There was no room for us in the bar, the party went on until 1am, the rooms are run down, breakfast was minimal, coffee served cold.

Quiet on the night we ate so service was good and attentive. Food was delicious.

The waitresses were excellent and very attentive. The food was tasty and plentiful - I had the steak which was perfectly done and my husband had fish and chips The restaurant was clean and tidy and not too noisy despite the bar being nearby.

Decor - attractive, staff - pleasant, atmosphere - nil, cold (sat by radiator, which was off. When I asked if it could be turned on, was offered fan heater instead. I refused: the dry air dries my contact lenses). Food - OK, with notable exception being cheap, very fatty roast lamb, but waaaaay over-priced. Also, gravy and sauces should ALWAYS be served separately: people like differing amounts. I would not recommend at this price without the two latter issues being improved.

Good service but the restaurant was virtually empty. Quite expensive for what you got.

Excellent all round. Waiter was very good and attentive, nothing was too much bother and was very helpful in drink selections.
    Food was excellent.
