Restaurant description

Converted from three cute 19th-century cottages into an alehouse, rural life has always been at the heart of The Green Dragon Lymm, prizing its location in the rolling Cheshire countryside and close to the River Bollin. With a spacious and rustic wooden interior, complete with a classic hearth, the accomplished menu of British pub favourites can also be enjoyed in the pretty beer garden.

Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Green Dragon menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Green Dragon ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.

Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.

Close to the historic village Lymm, The Green Dragon is only a 9-minute drive from Glazebrook Train Station, or 12 minutes from Altrincham.

Had booked table, but still waited 15 mins to be seated, another 15 mins for order to be taken, and over half an hour for the first course to arrive. The melted Brie starter was set like concrete and almost uneatable. The pate was very non descript, and for some reason served on a piece of waxed paper. Very odd. Was it to save washing the plate? The main courses were all right. Nothing to write home about. We had to ask twice for the drinks we had ordered. We have eaten here on several occasions, but won't be rushing back after last night's experience. We weren't happy with the bill when it came, although the manager eventually sorted it out. We couldn't help noticing that this happened to at least one other table as well.
