Converted from three cute 19th-century cottages into an alehouse, rural life has always been at the heart of The Green Dragon Lymm, prizing its location in the rolling Cheshire countryside and close to the River Bollin. With a spacious and rustic wooden interior, complete with a classic hearth, the accomplished menu of British pub favourites can also be enjoyed in the pretty beer garden.

Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Green Dragon menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Green Dragon ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.

Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.

Close to the historic village Lymm, The Green Dragon is only a 9-minute drive from Glazebrook Train Station, or 12 minutes from Altrincham.

I chose the chicken and tarragon pie for the main course which was good but did need a little more sauce because if was a bit dry. It had either been overheated and dried up a bit or else there was insufficient moisture put in the pie. I have had this before and do find it very tasty but again it was quite dry. My puddings was really good - the trio of nuts (I think it was called). Service was brilliant - the waiters were really good, enthusiastic and seemed to be very happy working there.

The staff were very friendly and at tentative throughout the visit, the food was very well presented, tasty and a decent sized portion. The hot drink and mini desert was great value and just enough after the main course.

Having dined there before was looking forward to celebrating a birthday .... despite being pre booked table there was very little on the menu left and it was only 6pm no beef, no lamb, no chicken pie, no sea bass, no turkey etc . I felt for our waiter who was really apologetic and pleasant, so 6 disappointed guests. when the food arrived it was luke warm and the veg was cold with exception of the side of cauliflower cheese. Having already complained we did not wish to embarrass our waiter further. Our waiter did bring a complimentary dessert for the birthday girl and a glass of prosecco but overall the experience was spoilt by the limited choice.

Unfortunately we didn't have a great experience here. The chap who met and seated us was very nice and pleasant however that was the only good part of our visit. I can only assume there was a shortage of staff as we waited a while to be served. We ordered drinks when we purchased our food which must have been forgotten about as they never arrived. My main meal came before our starters which had to be sent back. The mains came to the table before the plates had been cleared from the starters and not once in the 90 minutes we were there were the drinks glasses cleared, we had to put them on the table at the side of us to make room. The food when it came was poor, even the prawn cocktail was tasteless. Sorry but not a great visit.

Really really disappointed the restaurant was recommended by at least 3 friends .Service was very very slow .niot enough staff for the amount of people Steak was very fatty and chicken was very dry and hard ar the edges .We went with the intention of taking more friends for a leaving meal in july but unfortunately this wont be hapoening .On a plus note the waiter was extremely pleasant .

We had this restaurant recommend to its and were expecting great things. However when we arrived it was 5 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us. We ordered the food. The mixed platter sunday roast for 2 people and sirloin of beef ( also in roast dinner section)

The mixed platter was a little lack lustre. For the 50p saving that we made we seemed to lose half of the vegetables only having 1/2 a carrot, 2 pieces of parsnip and 3 small 'roast' potatoes each. The cauliflower cheese which we had to pay extra for was wet and tasteless. The yorkshire pudding was flat and tough. Not palatable. And the sirloin was a steak not a roast dinner and was also very gristly.

Before my friend had finished his plate was cleared away by a young lad who hesitantly asked as he had grabbed the plate "you finished" and before he had a chance to reply the plate was taken away.

We wanted to be wowed by this beautiful rustic country pub with a hearty and wholesome roast but unfortunately it just didn't live up to its over priced price tag.

This is a good place to eat and good value for money. Staff are very welcoming and the food is good. Nice atmosphere in the restaurant.

I have eaten here 4 or 5 times since Christmas and the food has been lovely. And left thanks to staff. And good reviews. Last night I was really disappointed the starter was lovely for main I had fish and chips the fish was really watery under the batter and did nt taste very nice and the chips just tasted like oven chips. I had Irish coffee an extra £1.35 and small desert. The desert was really nice but the Irish coffee was luke warm and full of cream which had been stirred. It tasted just like s glass of warm cream. I could nt drink it. I told the waitress when I asked for the bill the coffee was luke warm and had too much cream. She apologised. But still charged for the Irish coffee. We paid for the bill in full as I don't like to complain or cause a fuss. But feel it's such a shame after the food and service has been good on the past visits.

Been here numerous times, never again. On our last 10 visits no 2 staff members seem the same which says a lot abkut a business. This is basically now an overpriced Berni Inn. Service was abysmal we were seen to our table not even offered a drink for 20 minutes had to go to the bar and ask as our waitress was next to useless. Then waited another 20 minutes and had to go to the bar and complain to order food. The place wasn't even that busy, staff were stood around talking. The stand-in manager was quite rude and off hand like it was our fault we haven't been served. The standard of food used to be good, but if the chef can't cook a fillet steak medium, what hope has he with the rest of the boil in the bag food. The last 3 or 4 times the food has been terrible, we persisted as it's local and in walking distance, will get a taxi elsewhere in future.T
