Food was creative, fresh and excellent. Service was really warm and friendly and quick too. Waiter took his time explaining the menu. One of our go to places for a nice meal out.

The Great Chase has a look that blends the antique and the modern, with rustic touches and wood block tables. Using the finest meats, seasonal game, seafood, and vegetables, contemporary twists are added to traditional favourites.

Head chef Radek Nitkowski (formerly of Dean Street Town House and Cambridge street Kitchen) brings fine food and excellent eating to unpretentious surroundings. With dishes like the free-range chicken breast with asparagus, croquettes and spicy miso aioli, or the mozzarella, heritage tomato, Ogliarola olive oil and pistachio, the compact Great Chase menu shows off a strong British core with pan-global influences, summing up the essence of multicultural London.

The pedigree of the kitchen at Great Chase London is backed up by a non-alcoholic bar that serves an excellent collection of fine teas. Cordial alchemist and sommelier William Wragg spins his magic to create some surprisingly punchy alcohol-free concoctions. The Tayberry Spritz, made with a Tayberry and Rose cordial (courtesy of the Gimlet bar, and made using ingredients from their own garden) and the Bees Knees Fizz, made with black pepper and lavender vinegar mist are particular favourites.

Firstly the service was excellent! Me and my friend only came to visit this place by following the social media Instagram page, the dishes looked delicious, but sadly what me my friend ordered and the taste wasn’t at all up to standard.
    We had the shakshuka dish.
Presentation was nice but taste after a spoonful me my friend was really disappointed, I have had shakshuka many times before but this was the far worst. We didn’t like it at all, taste more less like Heinz tomato soup.
Pancakes were not soft and fluffy, on the good note we ordered some slices of ovacados. The dressing on the avacado was scrumptious.

But we won’t be visiting again.

Mid-week and post-Sadler's Wells, this small and lovely restaurant was almost empty. Such a shame, because the owner and staff are completely lovely and the food was excellent. Fat Italian olives (we skipped the starters in favour of puddings), sea trout and Skrei Cod were exceptional and perfectly cooked, and a beautiful crumble with large pieces of fruit (not remotely mushy or too sweet) alongside a plate of chocolate (ganache-style) and blood orange were delicious finales. I should mention that the ethos behind this restaurant is to source ingredients which are as ethical, sustainable and traceable as is possible, so their suppliers are carefully chosen always with this in mind. The drinks - no alcohol in sight, which was fine for us - are perhaps a work in progress. The rosé fizz was too sweet for my taste and for us both was more like Ribena mixed with fizzy water. We also chose the driest of the n/a cocktails but, alas, the good bitterness of Seedlip was overshadowed by sweet elderflower cordial. There is no n/a beer available, but the owners are currently sourcing these. There is an decent tea menu, all from the Rare Tea Company, and each one served with its relevant and specific temperature of hot water. The bill came in at £100 all in for two. Considering the lack of alcohol, this is steep. If the restaurant want to make waves in this area of London, this is something to revise. One of the plus sides of not drinking alcohol is to pay significantly less for it. £50 a head for two courses, tea and two drinks is bound to keep walk-in clients at arms' length. Perhaps a revision of mid-week prices would be an option to pull in punters and keep the place alive.
