Our 61st Wedding Anniversary at the Goring was a delight. The ambience, service and the menu was excellent. Thank you for the surprise cake and the written message on the plate wishing my husband and myself a Happy 61st Wedding Anniversary. Carmen Thompson.

Everything was fine except the dining room was too cold. A few notches up the temperature would have enhanced conviviality.

As always, the staff were simply superb. Very welcoming and highly professional. You are immediately made to feel welcome and cosseted. With regard to the food, I started with one of my favourites, which was Egg Drumkilbo. It would seem that you have altered somewhat the way in which this disg is prepared and presented? Though flavoursome I prefer the previous incarnation. For the main course I opted for Roast Cod, which if I am being perfectly honest was just on the side of being under cooked for my taste. The main issue for me was the sauce with which it was served. The waiter kindly poured the sauce on to the plate, the problem being that there was so much sauce it "swamped" the items accompanying the cod, creating an almost soup like consistency. Which, given the presentation of the dish was indeed a shame. I also ordered a side dish of broccoli, which was absolutely fine. Tender and most flavoursome. I almost forgot to mention the amuse-bouche, which I enjoyed very much indeed.
