This was a dinner which included a glass of champagne in the price. We felt that this was a fair price for the quality of food and service. The three course meal was hard to fault; great flavours and good attention to detail

The dining room is very attractive and it is comfortable with nice lighting and no background music. The menu is small and is set price of 64 pounds for three courses. Those courses are amazingly small and the elaborate descriptions take longer to recite than to eat. Everything is beautifully presented however when I ordered the. RACK OF LAMB which I fact is one small chop, I requested it Medium Well. It came RED and when I reminded my server he said that was as PINK as they would ever do! Of course it was nowhere near PINK but was bright RED almost raw. Their version of the Cheese cake dessert was a baked mince type tart with a piece of blue cheese next to it. Finally they presented me with the wrong bill not once but twice! Charging me for a bottle of champagne and some gin drinks when I ordered no alcoholic drinks at all. Overall I wouldn’t recommend it or return.

Fabulous staff. Poor quality food, in particular the lobster omelette and the lamb. Both dishes were extremely salty. The trifle was very sugary with no flavour and the meringue was a very odd texture and again flavourless.

In keeping with the hotel - the restaurant exudes simple elegance. The waiting staff we experienced were super professional and appropriately friendly (and very knowledgeable) All of the dishes we ordered were excellent - my personal favourites the mushroom risotto starter and lemon dessert - both were quite simply perfect.
