We enjoyed an excellent evening. As we entered the hotel we were greeted by staff and then shown personally to our table. At least four members of staff welcomed us and that was before we sat down! The food was exquisite as was the champagne. All finishing touches were in place and we couldn’t have wished for more.

Excellent three course menu for lunch - superb steak and kidney pudding. Classy service in the restaurant. Rather slow in the bar for pre-lunch drinks. Very expensive wine list.

I stayed at this hotel and used the restaurant on the last night. We will be using for the third time. I ordered a three course dinner. The staff were extremely kind and polite and we were able to have a wonderful time. We ordered crab salad and beef tartar, main ordered lobster omelet and cod poa. I regret that it was seasoned. Every dish was very salty, especially the main lobster and cod were too salty and had to abandon eating. Same in the past

The Goring is one of those , rare to find, classic, sophisticated and very understated Hotels where one feels special and appreciated from the minute you arrive at their door step. Sunday lunch was once again outstanding in every way; service impeccable, food delicious, ambiance warm, though I wish they would replace the ultramodern lighting with some nice chandeliers. I truly cannot wait to be back and feel like a king again!

Pros: Delicious food, elegant dining room, excellent service, good price/quality. Cons: No canapes or hors d'oeuvres with Champagne, no amuse bouche, no petits fours without a coffee order and a supplement

This restaurant came highly recommended. Unfortunately it did not live up to the hype. I had booked lunch and the welcome was very nice. The venue was 1940s style and very good I selected my choices from the menu and selected the glass of wine I thought would suit. The sommelier was not particularly interested. The food came and although this was lunch - no amuse bouche ??? Worse still no bread was offered. I tried in vain to get the attention of the staff eventually collaring a maitre de who said one of his staff would deal with it even though I had witnessed him serving bread. The deer was ok - nothing special and again the service was poor. As I was dining alone they were more attentive to the large tables. Disappointing service; food mediocre
