We had a lovely time on Saturday 13th October, the food was excellent staff were very friendly, however we did have to wait rather a long time to be taken through to the dining room. Our table was booked for 7.45 we arrived at 7.35 and were taken through to the dining room at 8.40.

Starter and main course (beef) were good.Thought the treacle tart was disappointing - too "solid"!

As always, the ambience was fine and the service impeccable. The food was generally good but the Yorkshire puddings served with the Dish of the Day (Roast Beef) were much drier and tougher than I would have expected - indeed, I and other guests left much of them. That I think is a problem of having been prepared earlier and then having to be kept warm until required. A small problem in the overall context.

Brilliant. Polite and friendly staff in dining room. Slightly 'quieter' table as requested; no overhearing other tables, soft surfaces keep a large dining room pleasantly humming, yet easy to hear each other around the table. Superb food, well-judged plates from a short but generous menu for the deal. Attention to detail without being fussy and all absolutely delicious. Recommended.

The food was really excellent. Cepes Risotto and Chicken white as a main were fantastic, same with the Salon main. Beautiful. Wished we could have complimented the kitchen staff personally. One small remark - we had Champagne as apéritif and a little bite with it would have been nice. We can only imagine how good that would have been. Also great wine list.
