Well thought out menu

The carvery food was not hot enough and the plates were only mildly warm. No vegetables were served with the carvery despite the waiter saying that they would be.

I eat at the Goring WHenever I can, which is usually three or four times a year. Food is exceptional, service discreet, the clientelle appreciative. Cocktails are impressive, sommelier knowledge a delight. Not the cheapest by any means but you get what you pay for.

The restaurant is a haven of peace and tranquility. The staff are immaculately dressed and attentive to one's every whim. They are professional and not intrusive. The decor is understated elegance. My partner and I enjoyed every dish we ordered. I was especially impressed with my starter of Foie Gras, poached rhubarb, pistachios and yogurt. The very best presentation of this ingredient I have ever experienced. Every plate was a delight, accompanied by fine wines and helpful information from the sommelier.
