We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and on being taken through to the dining room were given congratulations. The staff were amazing and the service was excellent. The food was fabulous too! At the end of the meal they brought out a plate with two small pieces of cake with Happy Anniversary written on it All in all a great evening out and would definitely return

A well presented table in a lovely room. Excellent service, as usual, with delicious food. An expensive experience, but we'll be returning soon!

The service was friendly, not intrusive and very good so we felt completely comfortable. The food was superb as ever and served in the lovely new extension dining room. The evening was just perfect.

We visited the Goring Veranda yesterday to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We were seated on the Veranda and as it was a lovely day yesterday, the windows were open giving us a wonderful view of the beautiful garden. We chose the dover sole and the aged huntsman farm pork both of which were delicious, in fact the whole meal was superb. The servers were very attentive, friendly and professional. At the end of our meal we were presented with a small candle-lit cake with happy anniversary written in chocolate on the dish which was a lovely surprise. Afterwards we visited the Goring Cocktail Bar which has wonderful surroundings and a relaxed atmosphere. We were seated by Katie who advised us on the selection of cocktails. Katie was very attentive, friendly and very professional. Thank you very much Katie for taking several photos of us which we will look back with fond memories of our special day. Overall, all the staff at the Goring has made our visit a wonderfully memorable experience.

The dining space was really charming, perched over the secret garden, well balanced and elegant. The service was great especially the sparky sommelier. The food was delightful. Pared back and better for that.

We had lunch on Sunday 6 September to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We always choose the Goring Hotel for special occasions and My wife always orders the lobster omelette, unique to the Goring. Still her favourite but this time the chef was over generous with the lobster and she found the omelette too heavy. The foie gras as a starter was bland and didn’t finish it. The rib of beef was tasty and tender, the vegetables cooked to perfection. The service was a little slow.

Food was of quality we have come to expect, having eaten here twice before. So delicious! The four of us had different starters, all delicious. And we all had the beef wellington for mains. Epic. Also managed to squeeze in some very nice desserts. But, having booked we thought for the dining room, we were given a table in the conservatory off the bar area. That is nice, but a very different experience with a busier feel and piped music. I think if you are to be allocated a table not in the main dining room, you should be told this shortly after booking, to give the opportunity to change your booking if you would prefer the dining room. They were busy, which is great in current times, but I felt the service was slower than I might expect or have experienced before - both re the drinks in the bar area before, and when seated. That said, all the staff individually very friendly and helpful. This slower service might be because the hotel had only just re-opened. It would have made sense to give us the dining menus in the bar and take our orders when having pre-dinner drinks in the bar, rather than wait until seated. Covid precautions good - temperature check on arrival, staff in face masks, tables reasonably distanced.
