Pub was very nice but my meal wasn't. I had cod and chips which I found very salty.

I have been to The Golden Heart multiple times before therefore opted to dine to celebrate recently becoming a Dad with some close friends. Food here is usually immense and well worth a visit. However it took 3 hours to get through three courses yesterday, which is a joke. The pub was clearly understaffed and the service to our table lacked attentiveness. This wasn't the experience which we are used to receiving from the pub and may be a one off, however I am not sure if I will be returning which is a shame.

Good Sunday roast lunch. Great veg. Very busy with lots of children but service was quick and pleasant.

tHE WAITER WAS EXTREMELY PERSONABLE AND HELPFUL, even though it was obviously busy. The three of us had the 2 courses for £11.95 and it was extremely good value, and just the right amount (brie and sticky chicken). I was able to change to sweet potato fries for a small extra amount very easily too.

Very little choice for vegetarians. Just two options I think. When we visited waited approx 30 mins to be told that winter vegetable tart was unavailable. Fortunately my daughter does eat fish so she ended up having the salmon. More choice for vegetarians and vegans needed.

The food and ambience in the restaurant was very good. Service was good but a little slow. However we were given a 25% discount for the service which was very good touch.

booked a table for 1945 for 5. did not get main course until 2150, to late by then to enjoy meal, drink orders took 15/20 min to come on 3 occasions. Got starters wrong. Question size of portions. Fillet meal was never worth £20. It appeared they only had 3 floor staff and 1 bar staff on a Friday night, it was very busy as you would expect ! No blame to the staff out front not their fault. Price of drinks oh my god, one pint was £4.95. Would not recommend Friday or Saturday night or large party if this is the norm for staff working. Big disappointment .
