Afternoon tea, Fantastic, open sandwiches, mackerel, smoked cheese, chorizo, smoked chicken and lots of gorgeous cakes all made in the hotel. Excellent. Great service, we were spoilt.

Creative and contemporary, The Glasshouse Brasserie & Bar Lyndhurst is the proud holder of 2 AA Rosettes. Making the most of its location in the heart of the New Forest, fresh, local ingredients lead the artistically presented dishes.

The Glasshouse menu adds a modern flourish to the traditions of fine English dining. Start with quail served 3 ways with albufeira sauce, or the innovative pan-seared veal tongue with a spicy blackberry ketchup. Blending British favourites with Mediteranean flavours, mains include beer-battered fish and chips, mushroom, pine nut and tarragon risotto, and local sausage and wholegrain mustard mash, joined by pancetta and a shallot jus.

Housed in a Georgian hotel, The Glasshouse afternoon tea befits its classic surroundings. Savour traditional sandwiches and scones with a selection of teas, or a glass of Champagne for optimum luxury.

With black and gold décor, and striking artwork adorning the walls, The Glasshouse Restaurant in Hampshire is an elegant rural hideaway. Ashurst New Forest Train Station is just a 10-minute drive away.

Very inpressed with the standard of food at dinner. It felt like there should have been one or two more people serving and although courteous, a little training wouldn’t have gone amiss. Wine list could have been a bit more comprehensive.

Lovely little room for afternoon tea . The cakes were Devine but the sandwichs were nor very nice with dry bread .

The staffs are nice and polite but the 'Grill pork chop' I ate was the worst grill meat that I ever had! Too thick and too tough!

Service was good and timely. Ordered two sirloin steaks at £21.00 each. Both were so tough that the steak knifes couldn't break the surface. Complained to the duty manager who apologised and we suggested trying something else. Pork was presented but was almost as tough as the steak. Duty Manager accepted that I was only going to pay for the starter and wine and could not have been more helpful or apologetic. Previous dinners at this restaurant have been good and the hotel staff are genuinely lovely. I will not be going to the Glasshouse for dinner and can not recommend it until the chef sources a better quality of meat.

Set in New Forest, this was the ideal location to have afternoon tea to celebrate my mother's birthday. Lovely selection of sandwiches and cakes, with choice of tea. Plus a complimentary glass of prosecco. Will visit again in the future.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. The confit of duck was very good as was the lamb. The desserts were also terrific although the peanut butter cheesecake was a little on the heavy side. The wine was excellent and the service friendly and speedy.

My three daughters took me out for afternoon tea on mothers day, the staff and venue were excellent . The quality and quantity of the food was very good.

The food was very good, especially the lamb and the desserts ( chocolate torte and the selection of three puddings). The service was also good. However I felt the restaurant was let down in terms of dated decor, which included pink plastic roses and grubby curtains which had food stains on them.

Bit of a strange room set up, we were sat in a line staring at the diners opposite is. Website suggested a choice of places to sit.
