A stunning piece of Edinburgh history, The Glasshouse sits inside the converted 170-year-old Lady Glenorchy Church. Its floor to ceiling windows offer amazing views of Carlton Hill, there is a tranquil rooftop garden, a cosy Snug with open fireplace, and traditional afternoon teas to enjoy.
The Glasshouse menu focuses on wholesome Scottish dining made with regional ingredients, with inventive flourishes. Flavoursome starters include slow-cooked leg and roasted breast of Perthshire wood pigeon with gooseberry and Edinburgh gin chutney and watercress porridge. There is fresh seafood like pink peppercorn and cardamom crumbed stone bass with potato dumplings, as well as a succulent grill selection.
Inventive desserts feature creations like strawberry mousse with pistachio crumb and prosecco granita, and there is an inviting Snug Lounge that boasts an expansive whisky collection, signature cocktails and an open fireplace. Afternoon teas at The Brasserie Edinburgh include all the classic sweet and savoury additions, and during the summer there are picnics in the 2-acre rooftop garden.
Filled with history, and with a great range of luxurious areas to drink, dine and relax in, The Glasshouse sits 8 minutes from Edinburgh Waverley Rail Station.

Absolutely lovely afternoon tea and a sunny day meant we could sit out on the rooftop before and after our afternoon tea which was served in the brasserie.
Staff couldn’t do enough from the front of house staff to the bar staff and restaurant waiting on staff lovely afternoon and I look forward to visiting again soon.

We are staying in the hotel for a week, so are pleased there is a nice comfortable bar to relax in at end of day for drink and snack or dessert. Hubs enjoyed his mushroom risotto and I liked my venison burger. Love the salted caramel ice cream and the South African chenin blanc. Inga our server is very attentive and hard working. We saw her again at breakfast. Very nice.

Beautiful bar area to relax in, drinks pricey but work it for the relaxing atmosphere....meal in restaurant was gorgeous and staff literally couldn’t have been nicer or done any more for us.....we didn’t stay in the hotel but it looks top class.

Very dissapointed everything was overbaked and a bit dry. Tried 2 kinds of tea and they were both as weak as dishwater didnt think it was worth the money and it was a present so felt awful telling them i didnt enjoy it

Was a lovely experience, ultra-posh, beautiful view, lovely staff and good food. Only problem was a surprise service charge which was not made clear to us before at all (something which I believe is actually illegal). Caused a bit of alarm as neither me or my friend have the most money and this was a special treat together as we live on other sides of the world.

Great experience. Windows were strange and distracting at night.

Superb experience my wife and I went for Valentine dinner, from the moment we walked into reception we were blown away by the hotel, the staff were super friendly and showed us the way to the restaurant, the walk to the restaurant was amazing the corridors were full of amazing statues that light up, when you arrive at the bar it adds to the experience with the most amazing fire in the centre of the table, the restaurant itself is tastefully decorated with a good mixture of seating and tables with interesting views of Edinburgh. The hotel also has an amazing roof top garden which on a summers evening you can sit outside and have a picnic which is supplied by the hotel whilst you enjoy spectacular views of Edinburgh City. Every member of staff were professional, polite and very friendly making our experience even better. Both my wife and I came home feeling we had enjoyed a really good night out, somewhere a bit special and different whilst delivering excellent value for money. Great dining experience, exceptionally good staff, excellent food A GREAT NIGHT OUT
