I eat at the Ginger Dog regularly and am always pleased. Delicious food, beautifully prepared and really nice waiting staff. Pleasant atmosphere unpretentious and friendly. Last night the waiter gave us several tastes of different wines before we chose a bottle. The chef is really talented.

Really nice place with friendly professional staff and lovely food creatively cooked and put together interestingly and thoughtfully. Never overdone or pretentious. Serving staff charming - sorted out three problems: we booked online for 8.30 but they had 8.45 (why?) and my partner's chair kept bring knocked by people passing by as there wasn't much space between us and the table behind. Also the table kept wobbling. All sorted out with great patience by staff - we moved tables. This was about our 6th meal there and I am going back with another friend in two weeks. Like the fact that they change their menu monthly. Also really good fir vegetarians (and the meat eaters who eat with them) because unlike MOST other restaurants, they offer a choice of two mains without fish or meat and often more than two starters similarly.

Went for an evening meal with my girlfriend after new year. Nice atmosphere and cosy environment. Location is a bit hidden but perfect as it means it's not too busy with casual drinkers or diners meaning the staff can be mote attentive. Did feel like we were slightly rushed through but the restaurant filled as we were there so they were probably managing the rush. Does what it says on the tin as a very good gastro pub. Ideal for a Sunday meal if you want a bit more than the bog standard roast.

We've eaten here twice now and both times have been excellent. The bar staff are very helpful and let you 'taste before you buy'. The food is some of the best i've tasted, it's gastro pub grub, but of the highest quality... you can't beat the beef dripping chips! There's always a great selection of specials on offer and the menu had completely changed the second time we went. I thoroughly recommend the Ginger Dog to anyone who likes great food, great drink and likes it in a chilled out atmosphere!
