Wonderful service , exceptional food .
Everything was delicious . The crispy pigs head starter was a delight . The lamb was perfection . Even the vanilla ice cream dessert was somehow lifted to a five star dish.
We loved it and we will be back .

From Marcus Wareing, Gilbert Scott London showcases fine British produce in the illustrious surrounds of the 19th-century St Pancras Renaissance Hotel. The venue houses a spectacular grand dining room as well as an intimate cocktail bar.

Packed with rich British and European dishes, the Gilbert Scott menu begins with starters such as English tomatoes with feta & spearmint, and pressed chicken & truffle terrine with mushroom ketchup. Follow this with sea bass with nasturtium, olive and salted ricotta, or halibut with sweet corn and chorizo. From the grill, sample the 25-day dry-aged Chateaubriand, or pork chop with cabbage slaw & mustard.

George's Bar at The Gilbert Scott serves up creative drinks in show-stopping, 19th-century surroundings. World wines are joined by house cocktails, including the Blackberry and Basil Royale, the Rhubarb and Ginger Sour, and The Herbalist, comprising thyme-infused gin, green Chartreuse, elderflower, lime and absinthe.

A truly British institution in an iconic setting, Gilbert Scott restaurant sits yards from the platforms at King’s Cross Rail Station.

Had a truly delicious meal with friends. Service, staff, food, ambience we could not fault. It was a real treat and great experience.

The food was outstanding, for a set course menu the choice was very good and had no problems choosing. Portion sizes were just right. The ambience of the dining room was just right with a hubbub of activity that was busy but did not interfere with normal conversation. Service was excellent throughout. We were supposed to vacate the table by 22:15 but finally left at 22:50 without being pressured. That might have been due to our table not being ready for 10 mins at the start but it was all very relaxed. Thought it excellent value for money on the bookatable deal. Would recommend this and definitely intend to return again.

Very good experience,we were not rushed so could have a leisurely lunch. Food was very good, canapes were a nice touch and salmon pate was delicious.

A very happy and relaxing experience, with delightful staff who gave good service without being obtrusive. I enjoyed all the courses, as did the friend I was with, and the canapes were a delightful touch. I enjoyed all the food but perhaps the main was my favourite - humble belly of pork (as it was so considered in my youth) transformed into a beautifully cooked and delicious main course, the sauces and accompaniments were spot on. Enjoyed the glass of pleasantly dry champagne. So far have just had lunch here but can imagine it would be a good venue for breakfast, tea or dinner. Saw obvious business people dining there, so a very suitable venue (and especially with the transport links) for working lunches and entertaining clients. And of course the hotel itself is worth coming to in its own right. Many congratulations to all concerned using the very stylish setting to such good effect with the cuisine and service.
