From Marcus Wareing, Gilbert Scott London showcases fine British produce in the illustrious surrounds of the 19th-century St Pancras Renaissance Hotel. The venue houses a spectacular grand dining room as well as an intimate cocktail bar.
Packed with rich British and European dishes, the Gilbert Scott menu begins with starters such as Dorset crab with smoked almond and pink grapefruit, and pigeon with prune and pistachio terrine. Follow this with Cornish brill with scallop and crab ravioli, Yorkshire lamb with salsa verde, or mushroom Wellington with kale and mushroom velouté. From the grill, sample the 25-day dry-aged Chateaubriand with grilled bone marrow and chips.
The Gilbert Scott bar serves up creative drinks in show-stopping, 19th-century surroundings. World wines are joined by house cocktails, including the Blackberry and Basil Royale, the Rhubarb and Ginger Sour, and The Herbalist, comprising thyme-infused gin, green Chartreuse, elderflower, lime and absinthe.
A truly British institution in an iconic setting, Gilbert Scott restaurant sits yards from the platforms at King’s Cross Rail Station.

Loved the recomendations for which wine to have with each course i learnt a great deal from the freindly waiters. The bread was superb, crisp and fuffy full of flavour. All menu choices exceded expectations. The only dissapointment was to not recieve the advertised treat to take home.

Star deal was excellent value. Great service and a beautiful restaurant. There was a good choice of dishes. I chose the custard tart for dessert which, of course, achieved a legendary status after this dish was one of those served to HM Queen Elizabeth II for her 80th birthday celebration. It was, as expected, outstanding.

We enjoyed the restaurant and the meal very much indeed, the surroundings were excellent, the staff very helpful and did not fuss about which was very nice. We were a little disapointed that sides were extra and not shown on the deal as advertised however overall it was a very enjoyable experience.

An interesting venue. The special menu was short and fairly predictable with several dishes only available at a supplementary payment. Vegetables mentioned seemed to come as a puree. No bread was offered so if you required carbohydrates or fibre a side or two was needed. Wine was quite expensive and we did not realise that carafe wine was available. Service was good and what we ate was well cooked.

Sense of occasion very nice and staff very friendly and attentive. Disappointed that vegetables were an extra to the offer although the chips could not have been better. Portion sizes a little stingy especially the custard tart which, as a family favourite, was one of the reasons we took up the offer.

I booked this restaurant as I saw the offer for three course at £32. The place is beautiful, the service was good. However the food was not very well as I expected, no taste at the starter, the main course chicken was so dry. The dessert cake was ordinary taste, nothing excited. I have tried many fine dining and Michelin starred restaurants, I thought the food here would not be so bad as at least it's under five star hotel. Really not worthy to have meal here. but if you only want to have a cup of coffee or tea, it could be still considered.
