Excellent food in a vibrant atmosphere. Table service was first class. A very enjoyable experience.

From Marcus Wareing, Gilbert Scott London showcases fine British produce in the illustrious surrounds of the 19th-century St Pancras Renaissance Hotel. The venue houses a spectacular grand dining room as well as an intimate cocktail bar.
Packed with rich British and European dishes, the Gilbert Scott menu begins with starters such as English tomatoes with feta & spearmint, and pressed chicken & truffle terrine with mushroom ketchup. Follow this with sea bass with nasturtium, olive and salted ricotta, or halibut with sweet corn and chorizo. From the grill, sample the 25-day dry-aged Chateaubriand, or pork chop with cabbage slaw & mustard.
George's Bar at The Gilbert Scott serves up creative drinks in show-stopping, 19th-century surroundings. World wines are joined by house cocktails, including the Blackberry and Basil Royale, the Rhubarb and Ginger Sour, and The Herbalist, comprising thyme-infused gin, green Chartreuse, elderflower, lime and absinthe.

Nice place faded grandeur Starter was crispy pigs head but flavour not imaginative enough and a bit fried tasting! Main was sea bream which was fantastic Seeets nice but lacked imagination Pre dinner cocktail was great and staff could not have been nicer

The food was very good/ we had the set menu - and everyone really enjoyed the food. We were A bit disappointed that when enjoying such good food and spending a lot, the beer and white wine was warm. We had to ask for ice cubes. Apart from that it was great.
They provided a congratulations plate/desert for my daughters Graduation which was a lovely touch.

Celebrated my mother in laws 85th birthday here using the fantastic Bookatable offer which included a glass of champagne on arrival followed by 2 amuse bouche and a 3 course meal.
The room is very cavernous and lacked some ambience, this was probably due to the fact that we had chosen to eat early to suit my mother in law, so when we arrived there were few diners.The room quickly filled up and with the background music this did improve the ambience.
We were given a warm and friendly welcome and the waiting staff were very attentive without being overbearing. One of our party had a nut allergy which the staff made sure was catered to. We chose a selection of main courses ranging from seabass to lamb loin chop and gnocchi and opted for a selection of sides to complement these dishes at additional cost. All the food was beautifully presented and full of flavour.
I had made the staff aware that it was an 85th birthday celebration and they produced a beautifully decorated plate with individual cake for the celebration, which was a nice touch.
My only criticism would be that on the evening we visited, the dining room had been reconfigured to accommodate additional tables (which did not work) Marcus please take note! This resulted in little space between tables for the waiters to safely navigate between diners without accidents or spillage occurring (tray caught my mother in laws head). The incident was handled very well. It was an unfortunate accident and the poor waiter was mortified and very apologetic as was the Manager but it did put a slight damper on a fabulous evening.
I would recommend the food and service to friends and family.

Lovely room, hard to find, very few signs. Fabulous old building and great to see it in use. Food not exciting but beautifully cooked and prepared apart from lamb cutlets being slightly overdone. All loved the caramel ice cream and honeycomb. One waitress slightly rude, rather patronising, but all other staff delightful. Would recommend.
