From Marcus Wareing, Gilbert Scott London showcases fine British produce in the illustrious surrounds of the 19th-century St Pancras Renaissance Hotel. The venue houses a spectacular grand dining room as well as an intimate cocktail bar.

Packed with rich British and European dishes, the Gilbert Scott menu begins with starters such as English tomatoes with feta & spearmint, and pressed chicken & truffle terrine with mushroom ketchup. Follow this with sea bass with nasturtium, olive and salted ricotta, or halibut with sweet corn and chorizo. From the grill, sample the 25-day dry-aged Chateaubriand, or pork chop with cabbage slaw & mustard.

George's Bar at The Gilbert Scott serves up creative drinks in show-stopping, 19th-century surroundings. World wines are joined by house cocktails, including the Blackberry and Basil Royale, the Rhubarb and Ginger Sour, and The Herbalist, comprising thyme-infused gin, green Chartreuse, elderflower, lime and absinthe.

A truly British institution in an iconic setting, Gilbert Scott restaurant sits yards from the platforms at King’s Cross Rail Station.

Enjoyed all three courses and the extra Birthday cake for my friend was so enjoyable and unexpected.
Service and overall care was brilliant and it made a very happy day.
Did however think that the extra vegetables were somewhat overpriced.

Lovely building. Good service, and very good food. Would definitely go back again. It had been my friends birthday the week before and they did a plate with happy birthday on , a candle and a little dessert. It was really appreciated.

Lovely building, lovely decor. Service impeccable, had set menu - Salmon starter, Chicken main - both superb. Dessert - Banana soft serve a bit disappointing, just some not very banana flavoured ice cream with some crumbs on.

Fabulous! I was a woman dining alone, and from my arrival I was made to feel very special, which was wonderful. The Maitre d' was very attentive from the start, and the sommelier gave me plenty of time and splendid information regarding the wine to accompany my dish. Probably one of my best dining alone experiences ever! There aren't many!
