Visit the plant-based mini-chain, The Gate restaurant in the Hammersmith area for vegan Sunday roasts. Enjoy looking out a conservatory-style feature window in amongst plants, and an abstract wall art piece.
The Gate in London is community-first, aiming to serve sustainably-sourced produce on the menu. Begin with couscous and feta fritters or a picture-perfect courgetti flower before trying the vegan and gluten-free green Thai curry served alongside sticky rice and packed with tofu, pak choi, shiitake mushroom and snow peas.
On The Gate menu, find vegan vino designed to complement each veggie-based dish and a dessert offering that pairs sweet wines and spirits with each pudding. Round the experience off with a dessert trio of mango cheesecake, tiramisu, and a peanut butter brownie, which goes well with Dow’s Fine Tawny Port.
Found a short while from the riverside, The Gate in Hammersmith is a 6-minute walk from Hammersmith Station.

Tables were too close together and communal coat hanging was right next to us with people brushing past us whilst eating to get coats etc. Food was average. Waiter was friendly

Cool place, average service, disappointing food. The 12% service charge was cheeky.

We love the gate and have been many times. Last night was ok but the tortillas were burnt and the little oranges/fruit with the chocolate cake had lots of fragments of the nut still inside. Not pleasant having to spit them out with every mouthful. We wouldn’t mind so much, but when we have filled in a review for the gate before when something wasn’t quite right, there is no response, appology, reply etc. We remain loyal, but feel our comments are a waste of time.
