A great selection of mouthwatering pub grub is served on the Garden Gate menu, starting with sharing bites ranging from pea, feta and mint arancini balls with smoked tomato hummus, to braised brisket cubes with buffalo sauce. Classic like pork, leek and Welsh rarebit sausages with spring onion mash are served, as well as a burger selection that includes chicken with avocado, and vegetarian mushroom and quinoa varieties.

The dessert selection at The Garden Gate in Hampstead offers up treats like chocolate brownie with vanilla bean ice cream, and salted caramel profiteroles with Devonshire toffee sauce. The drinks menu boasts a huge selection of international beers, cask ales, and premium spirits.

With the garden being a popular year-round hangout spot, The Garden Gate in London sits only a minute's walk from Hampstead Heath Rail Station.

Food and staff were great as usual. Problem was no record of booking as they don't use Bookatable anymore ! Fortunately they found a table for us but don't use this websitr for booking.

Average. There were no roasts left at 2.30pm and over an hour wait for any food

I booked the table for 5:30, but the restaurant had it on the table labelled as 5:00. Luckily they weren't busy, so that was fine. I ordered cauliflower with cheese and asked for it to come earlier than the main meal, and I ordered 2 mains (for 2 people). The cauliflower came with my main and the main for my friend came way after, so mine got cold waiting for hers. When the second main came, the beef was very rare, even though no one asked how we wanted it and even when we sent it back, it still wasn't done to medium - and the yorkshire pudding was very hard, though not exactly burnt. The food was generally good, but after finally getting all our dishes, we actually had to get our own cutlery. We felt very ignored by the staff overall.

The place was disorganised but the food was just about good enough. The staff were friendly but looked overly busy for the number of people at the venue. The floor around our table had food dropped from a previous group with a baby. One of our group's order was forgotten. So she had to eat quickly at the end after the rest of us had already finished.
