Great menu championing local ingredients - impressive English wine list in addition to those from further afield. Friendly service and lovely restaurant setting.

Inspired by the coastal eateries of California, The Gallivant is perched right beside the Camber Sands dunes. This laid-back, relaxing setting has al fresco seating to enjoy the sea air look and out across the beach, and showcases a great variety of modern British dishes.

Set in an area rich in local produce, The Gallivant menu tries to source every ingredient from within a 10 mile radius. There are tastes of the seafront with dishes like smoked haddock with Rye bay cockles, spring onion and cured mayo, and classic favourites such as saddleback pork chop with creamed Morghew potato and smashed swede. On Sundays, there are generous roasts with fresh Bloody Marys.

Delectable desserts at The Gallivant in Rye come beautifully presented, with treats like buttermilk panna cotta with rhubarb sorbet and granola. The wine list features over 130 bottles, including carefully selected English vintages.

A beautiful coastal treat that holds a charming holiday feel, The Gallivant is just an 8-minute drive from Rye Rail Station.

Delicious food, nice ambiance and very friendly staff. My friends beef Wellington was a little overdone. Service was slower than we would have hoped for though but overall a very good experience

The food was exceptional with the mussels a real stand out though the lamb and gypsy tart were also fabulous. Excellent wine list. We loved the ambience of the Gallivant. It’s very special but also very relaxed. We came in earlier in the day and had a glass of the UK’s best bubbles and enjoyed the lounge and bar area which is dog friendly (a huge plus in our book). We are really hoping to stay I their accommodation for our next visit.

An enjoyable evening. Welcome & service standard fine though might have hoped it would be a little speedier. Did this account for food being a little 'cool'?

We had a lovely lunch on Sunday. Two courses if scallops at the end of the scallops festival. Perfect!

Really nice atmosphere with very attentive and personable staff. Bar experience and restaurant Manager excellent. Favourite dish was my starter, terrine of ham.

An ideal location for meeting up with friends over a leisurely meal in a very relaxed atmosphere
We ate off the new brunch menu which was perfect for our need. Food was well presented and although simple was very tasty
    Well worth a visit

Beautiful place, staff are friendly and professional but food disappointing. Nothing special, nothing terrible just instantly forgettable. Wine delicious and service brilliant. Mixed emotions.

REally great lunch with friends at the Gallivant. The waiter was so attentive and was happy to check anything for us with the kitchen, and was always around to offer more drinks, sauces etc.
    Food was excellent!
