In a peaceful area of London, close to Hampstead Heath, The Freemasons Arms is a gastro pub serving modern British cuisine. With roaring open fires, large arched windows and a contemporary design, restaurant overlooks the outdoor dining area. This country-style pub is also home to the last remaining skittles club of its kind.

With chefs given the opportunity to train at cookery schools in Spain and Italy, The Freemasons Arms menu features modern signature recipes made using the finest available ingredients. As well as creative daily-changing specials, favourites include pan-fried sea bass fillets, crab and chorizo linguine, or spit-roasted chicken with lemon & garlic confit. A kids’ menu and Sunday roasts also feature, and desserts include rich vanilla and chocolate gelato with home-baked cookies.

The result of a treasured partnership with Rothschild wine merchants, the cellar showcases many fine wines, while token real ales and premium spirits are found at The Freemasons Arms bar. Nostalgic British nibbles and eclectic sharing platters bursting with international flavours offer more laidback dining.

The Freemasons Arms Hampstead is just a 4-minute walk from Hampstead Heath Tube Station.

Poor service, waited forever to be served, forgot about the discount I had booked via their website. Not very professional.

very bad: the glass of wine had red lipstick, the table stick, the pizza had nothing but to much species

My companion is gluten-free, which I stated on the booking form. When we arrived, the restaurant clearly hadn't received this information, but we explained it to the server, and asked what dishes she could eat. The server went off to find out, came back and told her she could have the roast 'without the yorkshire and stuffing' We could've figured that out for ourselves. What she didn't have was any information about the other dishes on the menu. She said the gravy was gluten-free, and my companion ordered roast chicken. It arrived without gravy, and the (different) server said that the gravy was not gluten-free. It was pretty sad and dry, and if we'd known the only gluten-free option was a roast dinner without yorkshire, stuffing and gravy, we would have gone somewhere else. My roast beef was nice, but neither mustard or horseradish was served or offered. When I managed to catch the eye of a (different) server, and ask for them, they were delivered a while later without a smile - clearly the server had other things to do!

We had a nice corner table in the quiet area under the glass roof, very bright and airy and calm. Very friendly, relaxed and efficient service. Food was lovely too, and I'm quite fussy - it's definitely worth a visit. Also very child friendly and large group friendly, there is something for every need in this place.
