In the hometown of the Concorde, The Fox Den in Stoke Gifford has old world charm in the face of modern engineering. The cobbled stone design and cosy oaken hearth aid the rustic atmosphere, and the food can be savoured from the al fresco beer garden in summer.

Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Fox Den menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Fox Den ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.

Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.

The Fox Den Filton is only 15 minutes’ walking from Bristol Parkway Train Station, or a 10-minute drive from the city centre.

    Good quality food. Steak was cooked to perfection and chicken was also delicious.
    This restaurant has made significant improvements througout since the appointment of the new manager Stuart.

    Steak is always cooked perfectly! Seafood is fresh and overall food maintains a good standard.

    Friendly helpful staff and we were able to have our first choice of food from the menu. Last time we came we only had our fourth choice!

    Have dined here lots of times and have been pleased with the overall food and service, however New Year’s Eve was very poor. We booked a table for 8 people but on arriving were told we couldn’t have the set menu as we hadn’t preordered but this was never communicated to us. The standard menu was basically depleted, everything we tried to order was off the menu, even the fish and chips! What should have been a special evening was pretty disappointing, the vegetables had seen much better days and the usually good food was pretty poor

    Booking was very quick and easy.
    I ordered the button mushrooms in garlic, I have had this before ad it was lovely however this time I felt it was very very hot like it had just come out of a microwave plus very greasy. I told Jevin our waiter who said he would mention this to his manager.
    We both ordered a beef burger and again was greasy I did not eat mine but did not want to complain again.
    The manager came over and said that he understands that I was not happy with my starters and took this off my bill and apologied.
    Kevin then came back to our table and apologised again.
    Customer service very good but the food was not up to the standard we are used to.
    We did notice they had a vacancy for a chef so maybe this had something to do with it.

    Enjoyable main course but first choice of pudding wasn't available and second choice (apple pie) was stodgy and bland. No mulled wine or cider available which would have been nice when dining during the run-up to Christmas. It would have added to the ambience if the fires had been lit. Table service poor.

    The service was too slow. Staff behind the bar serve very slowly so you have to wait too long to buy a drink. The person who showed us to our table couldn't remember how many it was for even though he'd already asked us. He was also dress very untidily, shirt hanging out of his trousers. 2 of our party ordered fishcakes and because the menu didn't say there were any potatoes etc. with these they requested a side order of chips. When the food came the same person approached our table with the word "chips?" which seemed a strange way to start serving us. The fishcakes did have new potatoes with them (in spite of this not being listed on the menu) but the potatoes were cold. When we complained the cost of the chips was taken off our bill. Overall it was a disappointing evening.
