Food not fully cooked, over an hour between courses, all waiting staff taken away to deal with queues at the bar. I was just one of many on night that complained

Food was well cooked and presented. The staff were friendly and attentive, particularly helpful with an older relative by getting them a chair with arms to help them sit down and get up more easily - they weren't asked to do this but did it on their own initiative which was very impressive. The F&R has recently been refurbished so had a nice, fresh feel to it.

Sorry to say this was not a good dinning experience
Our first waitress went home mid service without bringing drinks that had been ordered, we went to the bar and got our own (no big deal)
Ordered 3 roasts 1 fish and chips plus 1 side order of cauliflower cheese. The side order arrived after we had finished the dinner and we had to ask twice to get it removed from the bill
The mains was only warm and the lamb shanks were very small and we could not eat the Yorkshire puddings. We assume that as we were eating later on in the day we got the left overs. Another waitress came and asked if everything was ok we responded as above and she said she would get someone to come over........they never came
The ladies toilets were out of order and we were directed to the disabled toilet which was disgusting and again the chain would not pull. This is totally unacceptable for a restaurant and had we not already eaten we would have walked out. I. Know that they had a very busy day but surely the management should do regular checks
at this point another member of staff came over and she was extremely pleasant and we told her about our disappointment with the meal and the toilets and she was most apologetic and she talked to someone who took the cost of a couple of drinks off of our bill
This member of staff deserves top marks and I wish I could compliment someone else but we found the others lacking
After looking forward to eating in the restaurant after the referb I left thinking it was one of this worst meals I have had and we won't be returning
On a positive note the fish and chips were very nice

Staff were excellent. Food was a big disappointment. Sent first course back as was swimming in oil. Soup was too salty. Sent roast potatoes back as were not cooked. But dessert was nice.

Limited choice of both starters and Mains by 7pm on Sunday evening, also some confusion over which soups were available. However, food was good.
The menu was somewhat limited, not as we have experienced before. I suspect it might be under new ownership.

Good main meal, delay with deserts even though restaurant was fairly quite by then, and then when they arrived they could have done being a bit warmer.
Suggestions - BRING BACK PIE WEDNESDAYS, BROADSIDE BEER AND FILTER COFFEES would speed up service, as it's always ready, and less staff are needed.

Starters and mains excellent but the trifle for desert was poor and did not live up to its menu description. Not really a trifle as I know it!
