Overlooking the pretty Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal, The Fox & Anchor – Wolverhampton dates back to the 18th century, and serves vintage British pub cuisine in a beautiful countryside location. The seasonally-prepared food can be savoured from the warm hearth-fire in winter or the al fresco beer garden in summer.
Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Fox & Anchor menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Fox & Anchor ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.
Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.
The Fox & Anchor is merely 13 minutes’ drive from central Wolverhampton.

We visited the Anchor for a meal on Saturday night and had the special Mothers Day weekend menu, 3 courses for £20.99. Food was great, good portions and very tasty. The raspberry milkshake cheesecake waa particularly memorable. The waiter waa veey attentive despite how busy they were, and the service was excellent. Great meal, very good value in cosy and comfortable surroundings.

From the moment we arrived we were greeted by Mark who we found very friendly, professional and made us feel very welcome.Starter we had were the Koftas which were ok however the Sea Bass was excellent and absolutely loved it.My husband has steak which again was fabulous.Main course was served hot and just the right portion size.I had the cheese cake which again was delicious. The only small gripe would be that when the wine arrived it was placed on the table in ice bucket with ice so gone to the trouble to serve correctly ,it would of been nice if the first glass was poured for you.Only an idea to excel serve and experience.Would i recommend eating here ,most definitely.Great food, lovely service and really nice atmoshere.

Disappointing. No choice for vegetarians, only one available off the menu at 1pm sunday lunch Sunday roast was very poor, uncooked parsnips and roast potatoes couldn't eat the Yorkshire pudding it was like carboard.service was sloppy. We always take friends and we were quite embarrassed .will not be going again unless the food improves. We have found over the yrs there is no consistency it's very hit and miss depends on the the chef.such a shame it's a lovely venue just needs a refurb and good food.

We have fined at this location several times in the past but would need to see a substantial improvement to go there again.
From ordering our drinks to getting them was around 25 minutes only about 5
minutes before the meal ordered 10 mins later.
Most of my partners meal was cool at best and the so-called roast potatoes not cooked properly.
Whilst my meal was fine (nothing special considering it was the most expensive item on the menu), the poor service spoiled the meal.
We paid after a single course and left.
Many items on the menu were not available. -

My booking was for 1pm limited choices available from the menu. Long wait to be served drinks even longer for food. When food did arrive very disappointed commented to the waitress that the chips looked like bits left from the end of the packet fish looked of cheap quality
