Overlooking the pretty Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal, The Fox & Anchor – Wolverhampton dates back to the 18th century, and serves vintage British pub cuisine in a beautiful countryside location. The seasonally-prepared food can be savoured from the warm hearth-fire in winter or the al fresco beer garden in summer.

Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Fox & Anchor menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Fox & Anchor ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.

Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.

The Fox & Anchor is merely 13 minutes’ drive from central Wolverhampton.

Disappointing. No choice for vegetarians, only one available off the menu at 1pm sunday lunch Sunday roast was very poor, uncooked parsnips and roast potatoes couldn't eat the Yorkshire pudding it was like carboard.service was sloppy. We always take friends and we were quite embarrassed .will not be going again unless the food improves. We have found over the yrs there is no consistency it's very hit and miss depends on the the chef.such a shame it's a lovely venue just needs a refurb and good food.

We have fined at this location several times in the past but would need to see a substantial improvement to go there again.
From ordering our drinks to getting them was around 25 minutes only about 5
minutes before the meal ordered 10 mins later.

Most of my partners meal was cool at best and the so-called roast potatoes not cooked properly.

Whilst my meal was fine (nothing special considering it was the most expensive item on the menu), the poor service spoiled the meal.

We paid after a single course and left.

Many items on the menu were not available.

My booking was for 1pm limited choices available from the menu. Long wait to be served drinks even longer for food. When food did arrive very disappointed commented to the waitress that the chips looked like bits left from the end of the packet fish looked of cheap quality

Excellent meal with friends ,nice wine staff very professional and friendly, puddings are fabulous. Our friends from Leicester were very impressed and it will become a regular meet u for lunch in the near future.
The venue is unique but would benefit with a make over i.e. Fresher up inside and out.so much potential could be a fabulous venue. We live just up the road and would visit more often. James and Virinita Newell

Great atmosphere and warm welcome, the staff were friendly and punctual. We did not have to wait long for our food and fully enjoy our meals

Lovely pub but the portion sizes are small for the price. I had beef and it was so tough I couldn't cut through it and my dessert had obviously been sat on a hot plate as there was a very thick skin on the custard when it came. I wouldn't have minded if the food was cheaper. The bar staff were too busy talking amongst themselves, well all except one man who was lovely and the young girl who served at the table was also fab, very pleasant and helpful.

Booked a table for 4 o'clock got their about 15 minutes before was shown pretty straight away . Waitress girl named April was brilliant very friendly, talkative, and very pleasant. The only downside was the one starter of mushrooms in sauce was cold but was bought a fresh dish straight away . Mains we're delicious and deserts we're fine apart from crumble seem to taste a bit burnt on top . Other all was pleased and taking how busy because of Mother's Day you were I would go back again . Also would like to say my mother is 84 and when taking for meals can be hard to please but got to say she enjoyed everything from starter to desert

Lunch with an 84 year old friend. Very choosy about her food but was happy with the selection.
