The Foodworks Restaurant is the AA Rosette-awarded eatery of the 4-star Lancaster House Hotel, offering a fantastic blend of traditional and contemporary recipes. Leading on from the hotel lounge with its inviting open fires, the restaurant offers a chic dining setting that is children-friendly.
Head Chef Damien Ng showcases the very best in Lancashire produce on the Foodworks Restaurant menu, and adds inventive tweaks to traditional local recipes. The fish and chips are coated in Lancaster Brewery blonde beer batter, while a portobello mushroom stack has perfectly matured Lancashire cheese combined with broccoli pesto. There is also an extensive children's menu with numerous healthy options.
Desserts at The Foodworks Restaurant Lancaster are wonderfully decadent, and continue the local theme: ice cream comes from Wallings of Cockerham, there is homemade Lancashire ginger parkin with rich toffee sauce, and also a cheeseboard of local varieties to choose from, as well as a large wine list.
Combining style with reassuring tradition, The Foodworks Restaurant is adjacent to Lancaster University, and a 19-minute drive from Lancaster Rail Station.

Dinner was ok and the service was fast. But they took a while to search for the PO on their system and finally they let us go. The guest almost missed his train as I was dropping him to the station.

Booking was very easy to do. Staff were friendly and attentive. Meals were reasonable. Sardine starter a bit pink, pork steak over cooked, caeser salad didn’t have a lot of dressing on it. Otherwise enjoyable.

Fresh Fleetwood cod and chips which were delicious and good value. The duck was cooked to my liking. We enjoyed the ice creams choices. The staff were pleasant and efficient, so all in all a good experience.

The food was lovely service was slow we received our main before our staters had been removed, then waited 40 minutes for our empty plates to be taken granted it was busy, overall staff members were exceptional.

The food was delicious, it arrived by very attentive staff, it was well presented and a good portion size.We had the joint platter which was lovely and warm bread accompanied it. the steak burger was extremely tasty and the fish and chips was lovely. Desserts were really nice and the ice cream flavours were unique and devine. Breakfast, superb selection and lovely to be able to order freshly prepared eggs, two choices of sausage (Cumberland and Lancashire) both meaty and tasty.

Once again for Sunday Lunch Roasting Joint, but with someone who had not been before. Service rather slow - not enough staff on duty? My friend, who had been to Foodworks before but not for Sunday Lunch, considered this meal good but not very good.
