The Foodworks Restaurant is the AA Rosette-awarded eatery of the 4-star Lancaster House Hotel, offering a fantastic blend of traditional and contemporary recipes. Leading on from the hotel lounge with its inviting open fires, the restaurant offers a chic dining setting that is children-friendly.

Head Chef Damien Ng showcases the very best in Lancashire produce on the Foodworks Restaurant menu, and adds inventive tweaks to traditional local recipes. The fish and chips are coated in Lancaster Brewery blonde beer batter, while a portobello mushroom stack has perfectly matured Lancashire cheese combined with broccoli pesto. There is also an extensive children's menu with numerous healthy options.

Desserts at The Foodworks Restaurant Lancaster are wonderfully decadent, and continue the local theme: ice cream comes from Wallings of Cockerham, there is homemade Lancashire ginger parkin with rich toffee sauce, and also a cheeseboard of local varieties to choose from, as well as a large wine list.

Combining style with reassuring tradition, The Foodworks Restaurant is adjacent to Lancaster University, and a 19-minute drive from Lancaster Rail Station.

We had a great meal here . The sharing board was yummy with so much we all liked . The lamb hotpot was delicious as were the other mains we had . There was a great wine list for all tastes and budgets. It was fantastic that our son who is studying at the uni could join us and amazing that if we purchased meals he could eat with his purple card for free ! Definitely will be back ! Also staff all lovely

Sunday Lunch - once again! - and choosing the shared roast. Service excellent from all three waiters.
Very tasty starters - Fleetwood Smoked Cod and Salt & Pepper Squid.
Main course - vegetables nice and hot this time but meat could have been hotter. What happened to the roast being carved at the table?
Desserts - Minted Chocolate Pot and Bakewell Tart

The service was very good as the food not so. The quality of meat produce was low so did not really enjoy the meal.

We had a lovely Sunday lunch here visiting our daughter for her birthday. We had a sharing starter for two but would have fed four of us! Three of us had roast beef and yorkshire pudding, one had the lamb, portions were large. Lovely waiter gave us a free glass of prosecco when he found out it was two of us having birthdays, thank you very much.
