Restaurant description

A converted barn nestled within the Maulden, Warren & Clophill woods, The Flying Horse is a cosy gastro pub offering al fresco dining and a menu modern British fare with a hint of Mediterranean influence. Inside, a bar & a restaurant retaining some of the barn’s original features make the establishment a quintessential country-style retreat.

With chefs given the opportunity to train at cookery schools in Spain and Italy, The Flying Horse restaurant menu features modern signature recipes made using the finest seasonal ingredients. As well as creative daily-changing specials, favourites include Mediterranean mezze, seared chicken breast with sweet potato rosti & buttered British beans, and spit-roasted chicken with lemon & garlic confit. A kids’ menu and Sunday roasts also feature, and desserts include rich vanilla and chocolate gelato with home-baked cookies.

The result of a treasured partnership with Rothschild wine merchants, the cellar showcases many fine wines, while token real ales and premium spirits are found at The Flying Horse bar. Nostalgic British nibbles and eclectic sharing platters bursting with international flavours offer more laidback dining.

The Flying Horse in Clophill is an 8-minute drive from Flitwick Railway Station.

A nice experience and we will probably come again because you have a good selection on your vegan and veg menu. But my roast was over cooked and not very warm.

Were seated quickly and drinks a little slow in coming. Starters arrived then there was a problem with main courses getting through to the kitchen (so they said) so we waited over an hour and to be honest when the roast did come it wasn't all that. I had the trio and the beef was the scraggy end which I couldn't cut with a knife, the crackling was unchewable and the chicken leg was dry as if it had been dumped into the deep fat fryer for too long.
