Great visit by a group of very discerning ladies. All were impressed with the great food, although there was a bit of a wait for the food due to it being very busy. We will certainly be returning to the Five Bells, and hope we get the same entertaining waiter, great guy.

In the tranquil Weston Turville, The Five Bells in the picturesque Chilterns has a rustic atmosphere due to the pretty surrounding countryside and the vintage British food it serves. With a welcoming hearth, an al fresco beer garden and an Innkeeper’s Lodge, The Five Bells is the quintessential British pub.

Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Five Bells menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Five Bells ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.

Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.

The Five Bells is just a 5-minute drive from Stoke Mandeville Train Station, or a 10-minute drive from Aylesbury.

Disappointing - the mushroom and steak was very overcooked leaving the pastry crust as brittle as an egg shell - did not want to hold up my fellow diners so just pointed it to the waitress.

I booked late but the staff managed to fit us in for a time of 8.30 pm. That would have been fine but the table for 12 was being used by a party celebrating an 80th birthday who clearly didn't want to go and after I complained to the staff we eventually sat down around 9.20 pm.The outcome was that we didn't finish our meals until around 11.30pm. That said the kitchen and waiting staff were excellent in looking after us even though it was past their usual finishing time. The quality and quantity of the food was excellent with plenty of choice from the menu.

Delicious lunch. Very very good service with polite, friendly courteous staff. Enjoyed every mouthful.

Busy restaurant area in a cosy pub atmosphere. We had a table for 4 and were attended to very quickly by the waitress. The waiter from Spain recommended the calamari, which was fresh that day and delicious! All the food looked good (see my Facebook post!) but the starters were better than the mains..although all were good. I would have liked p have seen a more interesting variety on the mains, but as this was the set menu for £11.50, I have no complaints, apart from my favourite beer ran out and noisy kids on the next table. I will be returning!

    Food was fine
Service was poor - asked for the bill, 20 minutes later, I had to go and find the waitress (who was looking at her phone) and ask again

We were a group of 7 colleagues who went for a relaxed mid-week evening out for a hot meal and a few drinks. Thought the pub was very cosy, olde worlde and chilled out. The servers were very polite, attentive and helpful. The two courses for £14.50 proved good value and there was a lovely relaxed ambiance. I would certainly visit again! Thanks for a very pleasant evening.

Good location. Garden was small given the size of the plot pub sits on - but nice to dine outside on summers evening. Everyone's food was excellent apart from mine - I had a steak pie and the meat in it was pretty tough and not that much of it given the size of the huge crust over the top. Puddings all came with custard - we arent' great fans of custard - it wasn't on the menu and we would have chosen not to have it if we'd known.

The surroundins in this restaurant are cosy old style; the staff are pleasant and the food is good pub grub- unsophisticated such as fish and chips, Hunters chicken or burgers

Fathers Day meal...food really poor. Obviously produced en masse...batter on starter soggy, roast beef overcooked, potatoes burnt , Yorkshire cremated
