In the heart of the Lee Valley Regional Park and overlooking the River Lee, The Fish & Eels boasts a uniquely beautiful location. Formerly a 19th-century brewery, it continues to serve traditional British pub cuisine and drinks in a rustic building, by the cosy hearth inside or in the al fresco beer garden outside.
Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Fish & Eels menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Fish & Eels ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.
Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.
Near to the town of Hoddesdon in Herefordshire, The Fish & Eels Dobbs Weir is only 9 minutes’ drive from Broxbourne Train Station.

Even under Covid the menu was ridiculously limited. No curry pasta for instance etc. The house wine at £23 was a joke. I can buy it in Tesco at £6. I know times are hard but don't take it out on those who are trying to support you because when times get better they won't come back. It took them 35 minutes to serve our main course from us finishing our starters and then only after I had to stand up put on the face covering and find someone to ask where the mains were. Miraculously within 3 minutes they arrived. Obviously they had been ready for serving but no one bothered to do so.

Had booked table for 7.45pm.. ordered our meal.. Fillet steak med to well done & Rib Eye Steak medium rare.. side if mushrooms & side of onion rings.. 5 mins later to then be informed sorry but out of rib eye steak, out of cheesey garlic mushroom side, out of onion rings.. so swapped rib eye for sirloin.. when both steaks came they were both burnt beyond well done. Needs to improve on food stock and get a new chef! Won't eat there again!
