Boasting spectacular views over the neighbouring woods and fields, The Firecrest is a tribute to the vintage British pub, serving seasonal cuisine in a rustic, brick and oak, building. The appealing ivy-enclosed walls are can be enjoyed from the al fresco beer garden, and the cosy log fire complements winter meals well.
Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Firecrest menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Firecrest ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.
Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.
The Firecrest is only 4 minutes’ drive from Wendover Train Station, and 13 minutes from central Aylesbury.

Despite the restaurant not being particularly busy the food took a while to be served.
When the food did come it was nothing special, in fact very average. A roast dinner consisted of three poorly cooked roast potatoes, a fair portion of meat, one carrot, some cabbage and a very tough Yorkshire pudding.
After our mains we waited quite a while for the plates to be cleared and offered dessert. When this didn't happen we left, paying at the bar on our way out.
A very average and underwhelming experience all told

Visited The Firecrest Wendover on the evening of 2 May 2017 for a staff meeting. Staff immediately welcomed me and were quick to respond to my order, even although they were in the middle of making coffee. I asked if the pizza could be sliced and they said yes (although on a previous evening the response had been 'only if the chef has time to do this as he's busy) so I was pleased my request was carried out. Food arrived at the requested time, drinks were refreshed and brought to our table, and staff remembered us from before so overall a good and friendly welcome and experience. The food was freshly prepared and hot, attractively served and look appealing. Thank you everyone.

£12 for 4 drinks was a shock. One of the ladies behind the bar was in a very bad mood, she was not at all pleasant to deal with. One lady member of staff was very friendly, smiley and helpful, 2 were moody and one even told us off! It was very funny but not really acceptable when we were a table of four spending money on lunch. Apart from that the food was good and my friend's dog was allowed in so all in all an enjoyable lunch.

As always the food was excellent. We were slightly concerned? on arrival as we were told we would have to vacate the table by 1.50 pm as our booking was for 12.30 but in the end this did not arise. We are at another of your restaurant on mother's day and must confess food was not at good there but with all restaurants service was friendly and efficient although the chef brought out our main meal

We went at 6pm on Mother's Day. On arrival we waited 20minutes to be seated and from start to finish it took over 2 hours to be fed. The place was is chaos, not enough staff or inadequate kitchen function. Staff there were very friendly but were well beaten by the time we arrived. They got greedy and overbooked on a busy day. Shame because the place has a good ambience and the food was very good. I would expect this to be a much better experience for others who avoided a special day in the calendar. It just had that warm feeling that would encourage me to return to give it another chance.
