Inside a beautiful 18th-century building, The Farmhouse at Mackworth serves up a great selection of world dishes. The restaurant boasts its own josper and wood-fired pizza ovens, and offers stunning views of the Peak District.
The Farmhouse at Mackworth menu makes good use of its specialist ovens – prime cuts of steak from across Britain and the U.S. are cooked in the josper charcoal oven, while sourdough pizzas from the wood-fired oven come with toppings including smoked streaky bacon, West Country brie, peppadew peppers and chorizo. Other mains include ale battered fish and chips, and pan-fried salmon with pak choi and spring onion.
On the dessert menu at The Farmhouse at Mackworth Derby, there are favourites such as raspberry ripple baked Alaska with fruit compote, and a selection of dessert wines. The bar area also mixes up a selection of cocktails, and there are premium spirits on offer, including aged Scotch and Japanese whiskies.
The Farmhouse at Mackworth perfectly combines tradition with innovation, and sits an 11-minute drive from Derby Rail Station.

I would like to thank the waitress and Restaurant Manager for their prompt attention to the issues I raised on 27th January 2018 a 6.30pm booking with the meal served to us,three out of the four not being totally satisfactory. It was obvious that my comments were listened to and taken seriously resulting in the fact that I will definitely return and the outcome could have been very different,my Birthday meal could have been spoilt if it wasn't for their consideration and solution.

Very helpful host although it felt at times the waitress had a bit of an attitude and we were an inconvenience. It’s also a shame that having spent so much on a great refurb several years ago it’s been left to get quite tired.
Food however was good

Unfortunately this was not the best meal we have had at the Farm House. We dined on a Monday lunchtime, apparently after what had been a very busy weekend. This resulted in several dishes not being available and two of those that were served lacking ingredients described on the menu - roasted cauliflower crumb was replaced with breadcrumbs and a vegetarian choice was missing basic ingredients such as carrots and quinoa. Very disappointing.

This was a gamble for us as we hadn't dined here for years after an abysmal meal served by the previous owners - but this was a massive and very welcone improvement. On the whole, we were delighted with the meals we ordered. The service was excellent and the investment made in making the place a good place to eat has certainly been worthwhile. The beer selection was good. The bar area was clean and comfortable. We would go again, next time with friends.

We have been twice before so thought it would be good when family came to visit. Awful experience. Food was very poor. Lady who served us and the lady who we think was the manager were both lovely and apologetic. Items of food missing, winter salad was just lettuce and half of mine was the root and had old leaves in it. Eventually when roasted squash came it was ice cold so obviously just out of the fridge, second lot was half hot and half cold so microwaved andnot even stirred to make sure it was hot. All in all a poor and embarrassing experience when we had brought guests

Amazing restaurant with a rustic feel. The steaks are always amazing and the pizza is so authentic love the wood fire oven. On top of this greatness the wait staff have always been beyond helpful friendly and polite. Also the bill comes in a book which is cute but keeps the information private which so thoughtful. The offers available at this restaurant make it super affordable too.

Busy and very noisy. Staff were run off their feet but did their best and were very pleasant . Food was delicious; especially the mushrooms on toasted sourdough. Would go again but it's really a destination for a casual meal rather than a special occasion in our opinion.

Staff made us welcome from the moment of our arrival. All were professional and attentive to the needs of a wide range of ages and tastes. Thanks for providing a private area, with appropriate seating for my dad as requested. We felt comfortable but were never made to feel side-lined. The food was delicious-we had traditional Sunday roasts, fish and chips and linguine-all equally appreciated. It was nice that children were encouraged to swap between both their menu and the regular one if they saw something they preferred their, and they were addressed directly, not assuming that someone else would answer for them. The puds were gorgeous and rounded off a really lovely meal. Thanks again.
