Went on the "Fish, Chips and Fizz" evening with my wife and daughter. The food was excellent - probably the best fish and chips we'd ever had! Service was great - prompt and accurate - each request was responded to without delay. The venue is very comfortable and relaxing - lovely roaring real fire. All in all, a lovely evening and will definitely return.

I was very disappointed with the size of my portion of haddock I finished my meal well ahead of the rest of my party feeling still hungry we had to ask for 2 plates as we order extra veg and the fish pie came on a dish with a wood plate we go out to eat every saterday and this was one of the smalles portions I have had and one of the most expensive .The food quality was good but we will not rush to return .

Disappointing and did not reach previous standards. The change of menu was not an improvement. The lamb dish and fish pie could only be described as average. The desserts were poor the chocolate fudge cake and ice cream were not well presented, the ice cream looked like an afterthought and my wife's dessert was very poor as one of the items was missing as you had run out. Had we been told then the order would have been different.

This was my first visit to The Farmers but definitely won't be my last. Great good and service, the gin specials were outstanding (a visit to one of their gin nights is next on my list!) and the general atmosphere was lovely.

The crispy duck starter was excellent. Good quality fish, though I would like more than a single prawn with the fritto misto. All round very good.
