Restaurant description

Inside a stunningly converted Methodist chapel now running over 3 floors, The Emporium includes a wine bar and brasserie, cafe, and interior design store. Boasting Parisian Grand Cafe style, drinking and dining here is relaxed and informal, with occasional live music events.

The Emporium menu is extensive, catering for people throughout the day. In the cafe section, speciality stone-baked pizzas feature alongside soups and sandwiches. The brasserie serves a range of brunch dishes, including Champagne breakfasts with smoked salmon, and also has an irresistible range of French-inspired recipes such as Brie and Camembert crème brûlée, and breast of Goosnargh chicken with Parisienne potatoes.

There is a carefully crafted wine list at The Emporium Clitheroe, featuring Old and New World vintages, as well as a cocktails and beers on draught and by the bottle. The dessert menu boasts traditional favourites like sticky toffee pudding and peach Melba.

Filled with creative charm, The Emporium in Lancashire is just 6 minutes' walk from Clitheroe Rail Station.

Great setting, good atmosphere. Menu very interesting. Food well presented and very tasty. Wine and food a little on the pricey side but we had a very enjoyable meal.

Live in Clitheroe, so been going for years. Love it! But the veggie options are poor - have been for ages! Strange because not the same in other James Places.

Overall the service was ok, other than waiting 20 minutes for a pint of Peroni. The food was alright, except for the amount of SALT used on the onion rings, they were inedible. The Asian beef salad also had SALT overload. The chef shouldn't use salt on either, surely it is up to the paying client as to whether the food put in front of them requires salt adding. Instead of having to request a glass of tap water as the salad had left your mouth completely parched from the salt.
