Very good food with excellent service. We booked the Library which is a beautiful room. They were very accommodating with difficult diets. A very nice experience

With a whimsical blend of rustic rural and Renaissance styles, The Eltisley is a beautiful restaurant, bar and garden. Inventive international recipes are served alongside cocktails from the bar, with al fresco seating being the perfect tranquil hangout for leisurely meals.

The Eltisley menu is a mouthwatering showcase of classic British dishes combined with eclectic international flavours. To start, there are light nibbles like smoked mackerel pâté with spiced crème fraîche, moving on to signature mains like the impressive hanging kebabs which come with options like bavette steak, or grilled and roasted vegetables with halloumi. Other indulgent recipes include sticky beef rib, or whole lobster with rich garlic butter sauce.

Desserts from the trolley at The Eltisley in St Neots are a real treat, with toasted marshmallow and fruit s'mores with chocolate sauce being a real crowd pleaser. From the bar, there are a range of beers, ales and stouts, as well as signature cocktails and a selection of fine wines.

With its stunning murals, exposed wooden beams and twinkling chandeliers, The Eltisley is a truly special venue to dine. St Neots Rail Station is a 10-minute drive away.

We had a superb meal, couldn’t fault the food or service. Wine list a little limited but didn’t spoil the dining experience. Found the black menus and small print a little hard to read. Will definitely eat with you again. Ambience was a little hard to gauge as a large party were seated next to us so a little noisy.

Overall, very happy with the quality of food and the service. Good selection of real ale and healthy wine list. Only downside, the steaks are not cooked very well, and they are expensive, so not value for money.

Relaxing atmosphere, lovely food. Background music slightly intrusive and unneccessary.

We had a very pleasant evening dining with family. I would have liked more veggie options but generally we all found something we liked. Drink selection was amazing. Service a little slow but we were not that bothered by this. It was quite busy and not many waiting staff. The dining area and garden was lovely. We visited 3 or so years ago and the refurbishment since then is lovely. Nice atmosphere. Lots of small touches that show thought (ladies loo area screened off) the garden was a very relaxed area. We will visit again soon

We visit The Eltisley often and our recent visit was the first since it has changed ownership and chef. We were a bit concerned at the change due to the fact that my wife is a coeliac. When the restaurant was 100% gluten-free (GF) it made dining out for us an easy, peace-of-mind, choice. Gluten is a debilitating substance to a person whom is a coeliac and it can still be challenge when wanting to eat out, to find establishment that understands that for some people GF is NOT a fad but a necessity including cross-contamination in the kitchen. Despite our concerns we decided keep our booking. The staff were very accommodating and understood our GF concerns. With the now restricted GF Menu, my wife chose her past Eltisley favourite, GF fish and chips. I opted for the beef burger. As simple dishes, they need to be executed well to impress. Both meals did not disappoint. The fish, in a crispy batter, was a good as it has always been and nice to have 1/2 a lemon for juicing rather than the token wedge that has been sat on the 'mise en place' for day. My beef burger, not a common choice for me, was one of the best I have ever tasted, it was flavoursome, good texture and stacked with fresh accompaniments, although I would have liked the roasted red pepper to have been char-grilled to add more taste and texture. Despite the large portions of both mains, we decided to engorge ourselves further on deserts and go for the raspberry soufflé. This was accompanied with a chocolate macaroon, chocolate sauce, honeycomb and dried raspberry bits. Worth the wait - yes! The honeycomb was on the edge of burnt in taste but this did not detract too much from the dish as a whole. Both dishes were well presented and we were well satisfied with our choices. It would have been nice to have more GF choices. With my wife being coeliac and as a chef in a past life, I make GF pastry and pasta. It is not difficult, just needs care and attention to be successful.
