Wonderful afternoon. Atmosphere was lovely, good choice of music. Staff were extremely pleasant and great customer service. Lovely to have an authentic afternoon tea with proper China tea service and traditional tea leaves. The choice of savoury dishes were original and delicious. The cakes had amazing combinations and tasted beautiful. It was very refreshing to see that choices were carefully thought about to make sure this was no ordinary afternoon tea. The decor was definitely 1920s and made the room very atmospheric. This was my first visit and certainly will not be my last.

Booked for Traditional Afternoon Tea. We were well spaced out and felt Covid-19 safe. Went for the fizz option with was lovely. Amuse-bouche was a lovely added touch, enjoyed both savoury and sweet options

We arrived as a group of 5 to celebrate an Anniversary & birthday. Service was horrendous, took 25 mins to be given a menu and 45 mins before any drinks despite other tables having attentive staff. When the issue was raised it was blamed on the restaurant manager and that they knew we were not receiving the correct service level but rather than apologising the staff just stayed away. Having visited numerous times before it was a disappointing visit. Discount added to the bill without even requesting shows that the staff knew there was an issue but they had chance to remedy the service but didn’t.

Very pretty setting. An amazing day ruined by kitchen staff not taking care! I booked afternoon tea for myself and my friend, our first catch up since December. It was also special because she used it as an opportunity to ask me to be her bridesmaid next year. We both have food intolerances, I specified this in my booking and again when our waitress who was lovely was speaking to us. Despite confirming our dietary requirements and our waitress confirming when the order was put through we still had a coconut cake added! My friend took one bite and knew straight away! Her lips went numb and she was panicking as she was worried she would be unable to breathe! We asked for water which took forever to come, we also asked for the order to be checked. Another waitress confirmed there was coconut but she wasn’t sure what she could do! The manager then came over who was apologetic, however at this point the day was ruined and my friend was extremely worried as she is also asthmatic so didn’t want it to affect her breathing. I was also extremely concerned as she then had a journey home on her own. The manager assured us we wouldn’t pay for our meal, he also insisted we would receive an email...I am still waiting. Awful experience, it’s 2020, allergies, intolerances and food sensitivities should be taken more seriously. It’s simply unacceptable and a wonderful afternoon was completely ruined as we both left anxious and worried. Thanks for ruining a perfect day!

Every time I visit Birmingham I make sure to make a booking for afternoon tea. By far it's the best place I've visited and I always enjoy myself. I went pre and post COVID and the experience is still as great and staff as always help you feel safe and secure in the environment.

As always The Edgbaston delivers a very special afternoon tea. The mini baguette was yummy and chewy, the quiche pastry was crisp and the brioche roll and blinis very tasty! The mini cakes were lovely although the chocolate macaroon with the pistachio filling didn't fill me with the usual joy the filling came oozing out when bitten into there was barely any filling left in the macaroon but having said that the cakes were delicious. My only disappointment was that the scones were brought all together as they are usually warm but I understand this is due to the pandemic so that there is not too much movement of staff in the dining room. Overall a very enjoyable afternoon tea and as always lovely attentive waiting staff.
