Good restaurant with excellently prepared food. Service helpful and polite. I would suggest the wonderful piano player on Saturday evening could play a little softer for some of the clientele who are less hard of hearing.

This was a restaurant I have been meaning to visit for some time. The booking of a lunchtime table was easy. We ate off the A LA CARTE menu although the Brasserie menu was very enticing as well. The setting of the restaurant overlooking the garden was lovely and we had a window seat. There were three other tables occupied. The meal was not especially cheap (we had two starters, two main courses, one dessert, two coffees and two glasses of wine) at £100 excluding service. However, having said that the food was wonderful and the service could not be faulted. We spent two hours over lunch and will certainly go back. Everything was very clean, tidy and relaxing.

Excellent food, friendly staff. Small point but a white tablecloth would have added to the experience. Also access to a comfy Lounge to enjoy coffee.

Ate here with daughter's family – 4 adults and 2 children aged 8 and 10. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the event: lovely dining room, delicious food very attractively presented, and attentive service without being over-solicitous. The butter tomatoes (butter that looked very like tomatoes and tasted of tomato) were great.

Very comfortable surroundings, attentive staff. Did get a bit chilly in the dining room towards the end of the meal - after 9.30. Food very tasty, crab dish delicious. Rib-eye steak tasty and rice pudding delicious

Excellent location in centre of Sherborne. The restaurant overlooks the hotel gardens which are very well cared for. The food was delicious and the service extremely attentive. A welcoming experience.
