Restaurant description
Just a short walk from the bustle of Shoreditch, The Eagle Hoxton is a classic London pub that is mentioned in the nursery rhyme Pop Goes the Weasel. Inside there's classic pub comfort, a great beer selection and hearty European dishes, while outside is a brilliant beer garden with heaters and covered areas.
From light bites to filling favourites, the Eagle menu has a great selection of international dishes. To start, there are eclectic bar snacks ranging from handmade Scotch egg with HP sauce, to sweet chilli and lime glazed squid. A popular burger selection on the main menu features classic beef patties topped with double-smoked back bacon, and the vegetarian quinoa and mushroom option. There is classic cider battered fish and chips, roasted half Shropshire chicken, and fantastic Sunday roasts at the weekend.
Seasonal tap ranges at The Eagle Hoxton feature beers and ales from small breweries, with a select wine list and range of premium spirits also served. For dessert, there are treats like sticky toffee pudding with vanilla bean ice cream, and indulgent salted caramel profiteroles.
Full of history and boasting all the classic comforts of a proper British pub, The Eagle London is a 7-minute walk from Old Street Tube Station.

Lovely pub, recently renovated. Great value for money especially considering the central location. The roast beef was tasty and cooked well, tender and pink. Food took a bit to come out but as we were relaxing and catching up with friends it didn’t really matter. Friendly staff, good selection of draft beers and nice wine list too. Definitely on my favourites list. Toilets are nice and clean too :-)
