Restaurant description

On the edge of Richmond Park, Michelin-starred The Dysart Petersham is a family-owned and run restaurant driven by a passion for food and wine, commitment to quality ingredients and responsible sourcing. Local, seasonal produce packs the menu, with many ingredients from their own kitchen garden.

Dating back to 1904, the building maintains many original features alongside simple décor and a wealth of beautiful woods. Facing south over Richmond Park, the main rooms offer sun-soaked views, with a large log-burning stove on hand for colder days. Blending naturally into the village and the landscape of Richmond Park, The Dysart’s garden becomes a tranquil outdoor dining area on the warm days of late Spring, Summer and early Autumn.

Home to an antique rosewood Bechstein grand piano, music plays an important role at The Dysart. Some of the finest classical and jazz musicians have graced the salon scale stage, both for monthly Sunday evening classical recitals, and in providing a subtle backdrop to dining on a Friday and Saturday evening.

Retaining the character of a country village, Petersham is just half an hour from central London. Richmond Tube Station is a 25-minute walk from the restaurant.

Excellent service and food. We will definitely eat here again and recommend you to our friends. Plenty of space between tables without losing the intimacy of the restaurant. Overall experience very good.

Complete magic - incredible food, lovely setting, tranquil, relaxed and great service. The tables are well spaced so real privacy which makes such a change also. We had a wonderful celebratory birthday meal there.

Lovely welcome and atmosphere in an Arts and Crafts style converted pub. The Dysart was everything we had hoped for, delicious food, catering also for food intolerances, service impeccable although perhaps a little bit too hasty with delivery....We were there for a family celebration; it was perfect! Thank you.

A nearly hidden gem of a restaurant! The dining experience was welcoming and relaxed from the start, easy to park, beautiful garden entrance, peaceful, nicely spaced tables so you could hear yourselves talk. The owner was very knowledgeable and friendly - we chose to have the tasting menu for 4 of us - accompanied by their wine matching (although we were intrigued by the idea of the beer-matching too!) Each dish was exquisitely presented and perfectly cooked - hard to choose a 'favourite' as each one was perfect and served at suitable intervals. Cannot praise it enough! Perfect for special dinners - would definitely like to return.

Lovely restaurant layout & building, very comfortable atmosphere. Tables are a little low for those with longer legs trying to tuck them in though! Food was delicious with great flavours but found portion size to be rather small for the price.
