On the edge of Richmond Park, Michelin-starred The Dysart Petersham is a family-owned and run restaurant driven by a passion for food and wine, commitment to quality ingredients and responsible sourcing. Local, seasonal produce packs the menu, with many ingredients from their own kitchen garden.
Dating back to 1904, the building maintains many original features alongside simple décor and a wealth of beautiful woods. Facing south over Richmond Park, the main rooms offer sun-soaked views, with a large log-burning stove on hand for colder days. Blending naturally into the village and the landscape of Richmond Park, The Dysart’s garden becomes a tranquil outdoor dining area on the warm days of late Spring, Summer and early Autumn.
Home to an antique rosewood Bechstein grand piano, music plays an important role at The Dysart. Some of the finest classical and jazz musicians have graced the salon scale stage, both for monthly Sunday evening classical recitals, and in providing a subtle backdrop to dining on a Friday and Saturday evening.
Retaining the character of a country village, Petersham is just half an hour from central London. Richmond Tube Station is a 25-minute walk from the restaurant.

Great from the moment we walked in. We were early so led to the bar. Friendly staff and owner had time to chat with us. Had the taster menu paired with wine for each course. Particularly liked the spacing of the tables plenty of room. Great food wine and waitress and owner.

The greeting was very welcoming and drinks at the small bar were very relaxed. The food was superb, really nice attention to detail and really great flavours. Service was warm and engaging, without being too intrusive and really added to our evening.

We had not been to The Dysart for a while so it was a pleasure to find the same exacting standards had been kept. Three of us received a warm welcome from Barney and given a nice table. The food was delicious and beautifully presented - we had starters and main courses but shared a delightful pudding. Barney also recommended a good Brouilly which we thoroughly enjoyed. There is a very nice ambiance in the restaurant, with a cheerful fire. We were told by the staff that the restaurant had just received its first Michelin star and they were all so excited by the news, as were we. Well deserved, so congratulations.

Lovey meal in this gasto-pub, with a pianist playing quietly in the background. Service is attentive, food is well balanced and beautifully presented. We had hake and beef for our mains, which were delicious!

The food is seriously delicious and I would now say the best in the area. We celebrated my husbands birthday there we had the tasting menu which was really well priced for 7 courses. The food reminded us of the Ledbury which is one of our favourite restaurants so really pleased that we now have a more local equivalent for an occasion. We didn’t have the wine pairing but the wine list is really good also. Loved the fact that many of the wines were available as a carafe or half bottles which allowed us to have white for the first 3 courses and red with the main without getting drunk.

Delicious, inventive, cooking. Excellent, thoughtful service. So refreshing not to have my glass filled to the brim by over zealous waiters.

We absolutely loved dining here. The building is historic and beautiful, and so light. The decor is very calming and modern. We had a 7 course tasting menu - 5 of the 7 courses were dishes we’d expect of a Michelin standard. The Maitre’D was incredibly attentive and fun!
