Restaurant description
Cooking up a modern spin on traditional pub classics, The Duke of York St John's Wood is a landmark pub established in 1826. With an outdoor seating area & a roaring fireplace, the pub combines hearty food with excellent wines & a friendly service. Enjoy a classic Sunday roast, or sip a refreshing drink with friends in the informal bar area.
Among the hearty meals on the Duke of York menu are penne pasta with mixed seafood && a creamy béchamel sauce, garnished with rocket salad & parmesan shavings, succulent steak cooked to your liking and served with roasted vine tomatoes & hand-cut fries, with wild mushroom or green peppercorn sauce, and the ‘Hercules burger’ – with fresh Welsh lamb, feta cheese & red onion served in a sesame bun. Baileys & chocolate cheesecake leads the divine dessert menu.
Special themed food evenings are held in the pub, such as burger day on Mondays, steak day on Wednesdays, and traditional roast lunches served on Sunday. With wall-to-wall windows overlooking the street, high-backed leather chairs & a well-stocked bar, The Duke of York maintains a friendly, neighbourhood local vibe.
The Duke of York in St Johns Wood is a 3-minute walk from St Johns Wood Tube Station.

4 of us dined here after our amazing experience singing at Abbey Rd..and before returning to Wales on the train. 2 of us had meat roasts, 1 a vegetarian roast and 1 fish and chips. The food was excellent....clean plates all round! 3 of us had the pear/ginger/salted caramel pudding with ice cream and 1 the sticky toffee pudding....no complaints there either! Lovely food and great atmosphere...will definitely be back and spread the word. Thank you
