Restaurant description
In the picturesque Cockington Village, the beautiful gardens and rustic thatched roof of The Drum Inn boast a spectacular sight. Offering traditional British pub cuisine, with the al fresco garden and a cosy log-fire, the views over the surrounding country are also excellent.
Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Drum Inn menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Drum Inn ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.
Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.
While in the beautiful Cockington Village, The Drum Inn remains only a 20-minute walk from Torquay Train Station, and a 6-minute drive from central Torquay.

Wonderful food and looked after by the lovely Kyra. Nothing was too much trouble for her and she helped to make my daughter'sbirthday meal very special.

Disappointed - we we're shown to our table, "number 28, 2nd on the right"! Told that a waitress would come to take our order. She came to the tables around us but 30 minutes after sitting down she'd not come to our table, so we ordered at the bar! We're told that there was approx 30 min wait for food. The young waiter who brought our meal was very polite and apologised for the delay. We still never saw 'our' waitress. The waiter cleared our main dishes after a while, again apologised for the delay. No one came to ask if we'd like dessert or more drinks or even our bill?! We finished our drinks and went to the bar to settle our bill, the barman seemed very fed up, told us to be careful on leaving as they were having work done and steps outside weren't well lit. I've been to the drum many times before and still think it is a lovely place to visit. Our meals we're very nice, it was a Saturday night and busy - would assume that they had staff issues

I had booked an indoor table but on arrival decided to take one of the outside tables as the weather was fantastic. I told the staff and they were great telling us just to choose any table. The service was fine, friendly and polite. The food was good . in all a very pleasant lunch time experience
