We chose The Ampersand for its science-themed afternoon tea, and it was a lot of fun. First you get a fruity drink served in test tubes and beakers that you mix yourself (fun!) The staff were great and explained how to mix everything. Then the food is served, complete with dry ice mist cascading from the top tier! The vegetarian savouries were fantastic, especially the mushroom tartlet. The scones were tasty, served still warm and came with both jam and lemon curd - and clotted cream, of course. The cakes/sweets were also good - the planet mousse cake was delicious as was the moon brownie! The petri-dish jelly not so much, but that was only small anyway. Excavating through biscuit crumbs for chocolate fossils was great. Oh! They offered us free refills of sandwiches and more hot water for the tea, which was lovely. All in all a very nice afternoon.

I had the most amazing experience at the Drawing Rooms in London. I planned my whole day around having the Science Tea, and it did not disappoint!

The food was incredibly inventive as well as delicious - so unlike a lot of places, the really cool looking food wasn't just for show. Everything was scrumptious. I especially loved the mushroom quiche and the macaroon. The dry ice was such an incredibly cool touch. I NEVER take photos of food but couldn't resist! Everything was so cleverly done.

Chantal was incredibly helpful and kind, and just a delight - i can't say enough about the high quality of service! I have recommended this tea to all my friends!

This was my favorite tea I've ever had (and i'm quite into having high tea). Five stars!

The food was great, very much enjoyed the vegetarian science option. The service was friendly, but the staff seemed very rushed to the point of stressed. After our initial order was taken we found it hard to get any service. We had the champagne option and once finished had to wait for a while to flag someone down, to then ask for our tea to be bought. If there had been service in-between we'd likely have had another glass of champers. The tea was lovely, and much needed with the sweet options. We enjoyed the savory items a bit more than the sweet, the flavours of the sweet options were fairly similar and quite sweet. The scones were maybe the best I've ever had. The setting is lovely and we enjoyed the experience overall.

Great afternoon tea. Loved all of it except the jelly was a little too alcoholic for me. But I would recommend it to anyone.

If the service wasn’t so bad the overall experience would have been or 4 and half star.

Excellent afternoon tea with a wow factor!
The food was very good- only thing we do not like was the prosecco and mint jelly petri-dish, but we left full after being offered more sandwiches. The staff were very accommodating, I was even able to have an orange juice instead of Tea.
It is very good value for money given the amount of food you receive and the experience.

Only thing I would suggest is giving better instructions for the DIY drink at the start. We had no real clue as to what we were drinking as the waitress had gone through the 'instructions' far too quickly and the end result did not look very appetising.
