What better way to enjoy a Sunday than in a cosy country pub with a great selection of British roasts starting from £12.50 – served all day and evening on Sundays using the freshest seasonal ingredients.
With its roots as an enchanting 17th-century farm cottage near Bristol, the pastoral oaken furnishings and dedication to traditional British pub food in The Ashton remain. Encircled by the stunning countryside, but still close to the city, the food can be enjoyed from by the log-fire or the peaceful beer garden.

Really love the booking service, so easy and efficient. Staff tentative even on a busy day, well done all .

The ambiance was pleasant, staff friendly albeit rather slow and the food was tasty though rather expensive for what it was. However I would go again and indeed recommend it to friends.

We ate at the Ashton for its delicious 28 day aged beef steaks. We were not disappointed. The only thing that marred an otherwise wonderful meal for us, was the bone marrow 'butter' on top of the steak. Unfortunately it reminded us of dripping, and I tasted it repeatedly later in the evening, even after the fabulous dessert, and despite the fact I scraped it off as soon as I realised I was not going to like it.

I had cod & chips with mashed peas which I thought was tasteless and not very good I then ordered a sweet of apple and blackberry crumble and had to wait an age, eventually when it arrived it was luke warm although full of flavour. The first time we visited it was superb but on this occasion it was very very disappointing.

Long wait as football game on. More staff needed on such occasions. Didn't get dessert so pub losing revenue as a result

Excellent Sunday lunch. Only criticism was the service was very slow, I had to remind the waiter that we were waiting for our drinks to arrive. Our after lunch coffee had also to be reminded that we were still waiting. However, our lunch arrived quickly, which as good.

The bar was busy but the food was not delayed by very much - perfectly acceptable timings. Staff were excellent, very friendly, knowledgeable and courteous. Food was excellent - we had the artisan bread and olives to start - with warm olive oil - which was lovely. The portions were of a good size - such that we did not need a dessert - we may have been able to manage one between two but not a whole one each! Flavours were good, particularly for the Chicken and Leek Pie. Decor very pleasant. Overall a very enjoyable evening and we are most likely to go again.
