Absolutely lovely afternoon tea. Had wonderful waiter to help us with our vegetarian and gluten free needs. Lovely atmosphere, pianist and service. For a special treat highly recommend it.

I had booked and paid for Afternoon Tea at 4pm as a present for my mother. I joined her for the occassion. On arrival we were told there was a delay to be seated at our table and were adviced to wait by the entrance. In the end we waited 15 minutes to be seated. I was surprised and disappointed to discover there was a delay given that we were at Fortnum & Masons, a brand that represents quality and excellent service. My mother and I did not experiance service despite paying £49 per person. We might as well have gone down the road to The Ritz.

I feel so deceived! I had not been to Fortnum & Mason for nearly 20 years. I took my 12 year old daughter there last week so that she may experience an afternoon tea and wow have things changed!!!! For the worse!!!!! Once we were placed our order and after having filled our tea cups we never saw our waitress again until it was time for the bill. She asked us if we wanted to take a slice of cake with us (as is the custom) and pointed towards the cake cart (a table not a cart) and told we could go over there and make our pick. Had to ask another passing waiter what the different cakes were. The sandwiches, cakes and the one teapot we got per person were good, but nothing close even to the price you pay suggests. If you are looking for service and quality I would suggest you go elsewhere.

When we arrived, the service was excellent, all the staff were very friendly and welcoming. It took some time for someone to take our order however once taken we enjoyed the teas. Unfortunately the sandwiches were nothing special - quite bland and dry. The scones were also nice but again nothing special (I've had better at £12 afternoon teas), the cakes were the best part - they were delicious.
The staff seemed very busy, and we had to wait a while to ask for another round of teas - this surprised us as the staff were very attentive when we arrived. Unfortunately, we only tried 2, even though we were promised at least 3 when we arrived. I think this would have been much better if we have not be left for so long - without food / drinks, especially considering the cost + 12.5% service charge.

A perfect location to celebrate my partners 50th birthday. Staff gave us a window seat, extra sandwiches and nothing was too much trouble. Food was delicious and plentiful and surroundings, ambiance and decor delightful! Piano player throughout our tea experience and staff were very attentituve and efficient. Cake selection was lovely and well packaged to take home. A surprise cake for my partners birthday was provided too which we thought was a lovely touch. Overall a lovely location to celebrate that special occasion and staff and cakes were fabulous! Highly recommend to all x
