Restaurant description

Tucked away within the West Sussex countryside, The Curious Pig in the Parlour offers homecooked British food and wood-fired pizzas in a sweetly eccentric setting. In warm weather, the sprawling, leafy beer garden is the perfect place to laze around and soak up the sun while you enjoy a meal and a pint al fresco.

The deliciously hearty menu includes a selection of different cuts of steak cooked to your liking in a charcoal oven, served with a choice of sides, homemade steak burger with mixed leaves, red onion, fresh tomato, gherkin & a special burger sauce, served with thick cut chips, and a list of mouth-watering pizzas, including The Curious Pig Special, topped with roasted bacon, pulled pork shoulder, pork meatballs, tomato sauce, mozzarella, red onion, sweet caramelised apple, sage & rocket pesto, fresh watercress & homemade parsnip crisps.

Sharing platters crammed with sticky pork ribs, honey mustard sausages, scotch egg and roast ham are also available, alongside a stellar selection of drinks. With rustic furniture, mismatched chairs & a collection of quirky wall décor, The Curious Pig in the Parlour boasts a cosy shabby-chic interior.

Good food but very poor vegan selection. The only vegan starter had run out- nothing was offered in place. Until there is a proper vegan selection we won’t be returning

Booking easily made. Meet and greet - moderate - not memorable Table positioned against a railing and fire exit so not the best position and no option to move as full Table next to us had very bad body odour so unable to move as no tables available Staff clearly busy - no question during our stay if all ok or if everything ok with our meal Sourdough burnt when it came with our starter Roast dinner was delicious and very filling - shame there was no crackling with the pork Whole experience not the best other than the roast - won’t be rushing back

Lovely venue and great roast dinners. Staff were very helpful and accomodating ... On making the online booking we requested room for a pram ...we were very grateful to see the table/space they arranged for us. This helped make the whole experience really enjoyable and we were very appreciative of the team for making the extra effort on a busy Sunday.

Beautiful food and friendly staff. We did get given the wrong bill at the end but that was quickly rectified. We were asked to take an insanely long survey with really detailed questions before we left... felt a bit like an interrogation. But otherwise, we would visit again.

Food was great as were the drinks. Seated near the bar for table of 5 but felt like we were in the bar rather than the restaurant, sat next to a loud group of men having drinks after a meal and a family with a dog right next to the table. Was very loud so hard to have conversations until it became a bit less busy later on. Waitress was nice when we saw her, which was either too often for us to have made a decision or with very long gaps such as for the bill when she said she would return re: desserts but never did. All in all was good but was areas could of improved on to have given us more of a wow factor.
