Situated in the village which used to be home to Rolls Royce, The Cuckoo, near Peterborough, continues this tradition of old world charm and quality. It boasts a traditional British pub menu, a rustic stone appearance, a welcoming hearth-fire and a pretty al fresco beer garden.
Hearty Sunday roasts and trusty British dishes head The Cuckoo menu, and a range just for kids offers mini versions of pub favourites. Signature Vintage pies offer fillings like beef & merlot with buttered peas, while The Cuckoo ‘Vintage classics’ menu includes lemon & garlic-roasted chicken with seasoned chips.
Paying homage to the Great British pub, the Vintage Inn bar stock includes cask-conditioned beers, real ales and a meticulously compiled wine list. Thirst-quenching offerings include seasonal non-alcoholic cocktails and freshly-pressed juices, and rich coffee is brewed freshly throughout the day.
Though located in Alwalton, Peterborough Train Station is only a 15-minute drive from The Cuckoo.

Both myself and my sister were disappointed with the quality of the food that we ordered. We both had the turkey roast and both of us said the turkey had no taste, the vegetables were over cooked and my sister was given a roast potato with a large black mark on it. We have been to the cuckoo on previous occasions in the past and have been very satisfied, the staff on Sunday were good and the public house itself is lovely. I will try again proberly but order a different meal

I arrived early and found my table was ready , the staff were very courteous and attentive , however I found the chicken in the Hunters chicken dry requiring the bbq sauce provided. Not the cheapest of places to eat , but a good location.

Nice food but very slow service as only one chef on duty! Booked for 7pm food arrived 8. 30! Staff helpful but no manager around.

I booked a table on 17 August for 3 people for dinner at 18.30. When we arrived it wasn't busy but as the evening progressed it became busier. Our starters arrived in a timely manner and were delicious but we then proceeded to wait 1 hour and 15 minutes for our main course. We asked several times about the wait and were told they were short staffed in the kitchen and people were ordering food who sitting outside?? When our food arrived the seafood risotto had obviously been kept warm for some time as it was completely dried out. They had also run out of the white wine sauce for the ham hock dish. The food was very disappointing and not anywhere near the standard we expected, never mind the long wait between courses. If we had been told when shown to our table that they were short staffed and there would be a wait for our meal at least we would have been warned and we would have had a choice to stay or go elsewhere but to say nothing is unacceptable. We were given a discount on our bill but this does not excuse the poor service and food.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal however when we booked we were told we would get 20% discount. We didn't it didn't come off the bill, so this let us down

Service poor food poor waited an hr for main course for it to be brought out wrong and food missing. Have eaten here loads and today the service and food was shocking. Very disappointed as it was for my partners birthday meal. Won't be returning as they didn't really care either.
