Restaurant description

Within a short stroll of London’s Theatreland & the shopping hub of Regent Street, The Crown – Brewer Street serves classic British dishes in a traditional pub setting. The building stands on the site of the Hickford Rooms, once London’s main concert halls which hosted a 9-year-old Mozart for a recital in 1765.

Since Nicholson’s pubs were first established in 1873, these traditional British inns have become synonymous with warm hospitality, hearty pub food and a speciality range of ales. As well as always featuring British pub classics like beer-battered fish & chips and gammon & eggs, The Crown - Brewer Street menu is complemented by a rotating selection of pie, sausage & chop and fish specials for each season.

The Crown - Brewer Street bar is always stocked with exquisite gins, warming whiskies and fine wines to pair with favourite meals, and there’s always a superb range of seasonal and regional real ales on offer. A constant at the bar is the St Austell-brewed Nicholson’s Pale Ale, made with Cornish Maris Otter malts, and a hand-picked blend of English hops.

The Crown – Brewer Street in Soho is a 3-minute walk from Piccadilly Circus Tube Station.

When we went into restaurant after booking on line for 5pm the male member of staff looked at as blank when we told him we had a booking still sitting on his chair he told us to go and sit in corner. Had to ask for air conditioner to be out on. Staff member had to be asked about other menu on offer

Main course and starter were adequate, dinner was a little cool but the pudding of christmas pudding was stone cold which ive never experienced before, we were last booking and it was obvious as near the end of the meal they announce they are shutting in 20 minutes, the people next to us had barely started. In my opinion if it was going to run that close they should have made last booking earlier and not try and squeeze every buck out of a final sitting, Value for money was poor but I kind of expected that on Christmas day. Staff were pleasant and service fine but I wouldn't rush back here as the food was not that good and parking a total nightmare even on a holiday.

Friendly, good beer, good food - we come here regularly for decent pub food at a decent price. Downstairs is always busy, but upstairs is a nice, peaceful environment near the kitchen and with good service.

Party of four visiting London from Oxford and taking in the sights and have a theatre night. The Crown was on steps away from our chosen venue and that was one of the reasons booked there. The restaurant is on the floor above the pub which was very "lively", but upstairs was very insulated from the noise below. The decor is as the website states - dark - but the room itself was well light. There are various paintings on the walls which makes for an interested look. The choice of food was extremely good and would certainly suit many a varied taste. I myself was tempted when I saw the venison pie on the menu, but in the end, All of our party chose the line caught cod which was excellent. I have no doubt that had we chosen different, our selection would have been just as good. There was only one member of staff on duty but she was extremely efficient and very pleasant and attentive to our party and to others who were dining there as well. Overall we were all very pleased that we had chosen The Crown and would dine there again.

Lovely traditional pub with dining upstairs. Had a great meal, great staff and great atmosphere. Right near Piccadilly Theatre, perfect location. Went with my parents we all had different meals and all were delicious. Price was very reasonable, would definitely book again.
