The Crooked Spoon is a quirky little restaurant set in the heart of the Enchanted Village within the grounds of the Alton Towers Resort. Offering a family friendly-setting for breakfast, lunch and dinner, there is a great selection of family favourites and unusual offerings on the menu, while the high ceilings and wooden beams give the restaurant a delightful rural feel.
The Crooked Spoon menu spans the entire day, starting off with buffet of full English breakfasts with all the usual trimmings. The main menu features a range of British favourites with quirky Crooked Spoon twists. Start with a potted prawn cocktail or BBQ chicken skewers for starters, before sampling the battered fish and chips or a tasty choice from the Crooked Spoon grill. There is also a variety of vegetarian dishes, from a roasted summer vegetable carbonara to a slow-roasted beetroot, mixed pepper & sun-dried tomato salad.
Desserts are just as show-stopping as the main menu. Treat yourself to a Village Sundae, or be wowed by the beautiful rainbow orange meringue pie – a true family favourite.
A family-friendly restaurant with a welcoming ambience throughout the day, The Crooked Spoon is a 30-minute drive from Stoke-on-Trent.

Food quality and service is really good at the crooked spoon, we managed to get a late reservation and once we had ordered the food arrived really quickly and was extremely hot

The restaurant itself is absolutely amazing, such a great vibe and really nicely decorated. Unfortunately the service was very poor - we were told due to it being busy, but that's to be expected summer holidays and also was blamed on inexperienced staff behind the bar... Waited over 20 minutes for one pint to come to the table and weren't even asked how our meals were. The food was average and we were quite disappointed with paying over £70 for the meal.

Beautiful theming and a friendly atmosphere, with good service. Food is pricey but is lovely quality and good portions. Drinks are expensive but worthwhile to be on the resort.

Lovely atmosphere and team are very welcoming, the food arrived very quickly which I thought was good however the chicken that I had was not great quality, granted the chef could not have seen the red and pink inside of the meat but when I asked the server was it ok as I had eaten the other half, he just smiled and said yes it’s fine, when he asked did I enjoy my meal I told him I didn’t enjoy the chicken obviously and he just looked at me and smiled. I’ll just chalk it up as a bad experience and will just not dine there again

After being given some time to choose our food and drinks, the waitress came over to take our order. She was very polite and friendly. After ordering, the drinks arrived in about 5 minutes and the food arrived about 10 minutes later, this is the shortest time I’ve waited in a restaurant before. The three of us had mocktails to drink, which were reasonable for £4 each, I ordered the House Burger and was only expecting a small portion for £10.95 but the plate was full of chips and the burger was huge! It was the same for my friends who ordered the pasta with a side of chips and the steak and ale pie. The side of chips was a large portion and they ended up sharing them between them. One of my friends and I then ordered a dessert: I ordered the chocolate fudge cake and my friend ordered the Eton mess. Again I was only expecting a small portion for £4.95 but it was massive, and I ended up sharing with my other friend. The Eton mess was a smaller portion than the chocolate fudge cake but was £6 which I thought was a little expensive. The waitress took our plates away and came straight back with the bill. As we were adding up what each of us had to pay the waitress was very helpful in finding the easiest way to split it between 3. We booked a table for 7pm which is supposedly their busiest time but they coped really well and we were finished by 8pm which was a lot earlier than we were expecting meaning we had more time to see the entertainment going on around the park.
