The Crooked Spoon is a quirky little restaurant set in the heart of the Enchanted Village within the grounds of the Alton Towers Resort. Offering a family friendly-setting for breakfast, lunch and dinner, there is a great selection of family favourites and unusual offerings on the menu, while the high ceilings and wooden beams give the restaurant a delightful rural feel.

The Crooked Spoon menu spans the entire day, starting off with buffet of full English breakfasts with all the usual trimmings. The main menu features a range of British favourites with quirky Crooked Spoon twists. Start with a potted prawn cocktail or BBQ chicken skewers for starters, before sampling the battered fish and chips or a tasty choice from the Crooked Spoon grill. There is also a variety of vegetarian dishes, from a roasted summer vegetable carbonara to a slow-roasted beetroot, mixed pepper & sun-dried tomato salad.

Desserts are just as show-stopping as the main menu. Treat yourself to a Village Sundae, or be wowed by the beautiful rainbow orange meringue pie – a true family favourite.

A family-friendly restaurant with a welcoming ambience throughout the day, The Crooked Spoon is a 30-minute drive from Stoke-on-Trent.

Food was average pub grub quality but more expensive. We were seated near the door & got a chill blast as people came in & out & annoyingly I had to get up on more than one occasion to shut the door. Service was good & waiter friendly & helpful. As was the wine we chose.

We had a meal at the Crooked Spoon as we were staying overnight in the pods. The meal was very nice, huge portions and we all enjoyed it.

Nothing special. The establishment didn't live up to its name, just a normal pub with bar meals. I imagined something a little more quaint and cosy considering it was in the "enchanted" village. Staff were very pleasant however wouldn't dine here again.

All of the staff we dealt with were first class and should be commended. The food however was very poor quality and was not good enough for myself or my family to eat which left us needing to get food elsewhere. I shall not be returning to this restaurant

Good service but the food was awful. Frozen, reheated mash that was floppy and tasted synthetic. Gristly sausages. The children’s mud pie was incredibly hard, dry and barely edible. My salad was fine but not really worth the price tag. Children left hungry and had to order bar food in Cbeebies.

The restaurant was really hard to find & wasn't sign posted until nearly there. Phoned the restaurant before arrival to get directions. Was told it was to the left of CBeebies Land (didn't say the actual hotel) so we were 20 minutes late for our booking but thankfully still got in.
The staff were friendly & table service was good.

Starting with the positives, great that’s its only a few minutes walk away from the lodges.
Play areas outside for the children, staff friendly enough, breakfast was good, good selection of cooked breakfast items, buffet style to choose from with cereal, fruits, cakes etc.
Negative would be the evening meal, we didn’t eat till 9pm, our choice but unsure if by eating earlier it may be better service.
The staff say it’s table service for everything but for drinks it would be so much quicker if you could go to the bar yourself, firstly waited about 10 minutes for the waitress to take the order, then another 15 minutes for the drinks to arrive, maybe more staff needed making the drinks not just taking orders.
The food quickly followed the drinks which gave us concern it was brought out so quickly, chicken was pink, steak not cooked to how it was asked, which isn’t too bad it’s still edible but unfortunately quite fatty.
The chicken was sent back and replaced by fish, fish was nice but chips were over cooked or was given what was left.
When you see it’s busy, you try to give the staff time & make allowances that they are busy, but another 15 mins waiting for one kids drink which when asked about it, it had been forgotten,
It’s under staffed, staff having too many tables to see to, or they seem to see to the same tables over & over again then forget others.
Complaint was dealt with fairly & main meals plus one drink taken off the bill.
With the right staffing, or maybe a separate bar area, it would be a great restaurant for the enchanted village.
Still enjoyed our stay in the village.

The food was good. Not excellent but good. The restaurant was clean and well looked after. The service from our waiter was fantastic - he was friendly, welcoming, helpful and great with kids! I think he was called Mitch and he really was excellent. The food was pricey for the quality.
