Amazing food and service, top quality, even allowed my father to come in through a side door to avoid some small steps. Will definitely visit here again!

One of Exeter’s longest-standing and most renowned restaurants, The Conservatory building dates back to 1600, and boasts an original, restored Tudor panel wall in the dining room. The menu fuses using classic English cuisine with an innovative Mediterranean influence, resulting in imaginative, modern European fare.
Seared scallops with blood orange and bok choi and Cornish crab arancini with apple salsa exemplify the restaurant’s quirky take on favourite dishes. Hearty dishes such as braised blade of beef with swede and smoked cheddar gratin are just as popular.
Iced peanut butter parfait with dark chocolate ganache and banana curd is a must-try dessert on The Conservatory menu. Early bird and express lunch menus are readily available, alongside a substantial wine list. Award-winning, local organic ales can also be sipped alongside the food.
True to its name, The Conservatory in Exeter boasts light and airy surroundings, creating a bright, relaxed setting. With Exeter Cathedral on its doorstep, The Conservatory is found just a 6-minute walk away from Exeter Train Station.

We chose to have the 3 course lunch deal which was absolutely delicious and excellent value for money. Each course was beautifully presented and very tasty. The waitress we had was extremely attentive, best service I think I've had in Exeter! She remembered two of our party were gluten free and even noticed we were celebrating a birthday and added a candle to one of our desserts which was a lovely touch. This was our first visit, a lovely atmosphere, could be a little loud at times but it was better busy and it is cosy so it was expected! Will definitely be returning soon!

Went for lunch with girlfriends. Superb food and value for money too. Great ambiance, especially as we could have gossips without shouting to be heard. Service was speedy and first rate. Love everything about Conservatory...apart from stairs! But that’s just me after a broken ankle and no criticism although something to be aware of if you have mobility problems. Believe me, food is worth the effort!

Our party of 4 all had various starters, mains and desserts here and none of us could fault it. The food was some of the nicest I’ve had for a long time, all presented beautifully and excellent flavours. We will certainly be returning.

Service was not up to the usual excellent standard on this occasion and for the first time ever, I had to send my main course back. I know its trendy to serve meat pink, but please, NOT PORK! (Starter was delicious though).
Hope this was a one off as this is normally one of the nicest places in town.

Good atmosphere, friendly attentive staff. Good choice on the menu, wine a reasonable price.
